Western Cape

Greetings from New Zealand. I'm about to embark on a four month trip through Eastern Africa with the last stage a month of travel from Durban to Cape Town. My plan is to visit the Drankensberg Mountains and then return to Durban in order to fly to Port Elizabeth from where I will start the last stage of self drive to Cape Town. I'm hoping to meander across the Garden Route, see the best scenery, reserves and enjoy the knowledge, advise and hospitality of the locals. My arrival date will be determined on the amount of time I spend in the mountains before returning to Durban to catch a plane to Port Elizabeth. I leave the Kruger National Park on 12/09/22 to fly to Durban where I will spend two days, get rental car and finalise route in the mountains. When in PE I'll get another rental car. My stay in PE would ideally be to a few days, so I can see the area, and make sure my route to the Cape is sensible. At this stage I would imagine that Id be in Stellenbosch after 06/10/22. Thank you

Looking for accommodation for jan-jun 2018

Hi, I will be doing an exchange in Stellenbosch University from mid-January till end of June and I am looking for a place to stay. I could get a place in the campus but as my boyfriend is mostly likely joining me for some months (he wants to escape the Finnish winter too) staying at the campus is impossible for him. I have tried to look for places on internet but as I know very little about Stellenbosch and I need to find the place while I am still here to obtain the student visa- I would like to ask you if anyone knows a place to stay or a reliable place to look for flats. And all the information of recommended areas to live is highly welcome, among other information that you consider important!

We are looking for a furnished/part-furnished flat/studio but everything can be negotiated (renting times, degree of furnish, sharing etc.)
And about us- We are a couple in their 30's, I study art history and work in restaurants and my boyfriend is a sailor. We both love traveling and choosing to come to Stellenbosch was partly because Africa, the whole continent, is unknown to us and we feel the situation needs to be fixed, and I am quite a wine lover. So what we are looking for is a peaceful and functional place for our stay and maybe some tips what to do, where to go and which wines to try.

If someone knows anything, I would love to hear from you!

Greetings from sunny +1 Helsinki, Ronja
