Wine Nerds of Tuscany / Fanatici del Vino di Toscana

Ciao-

I am searching for a group of people who are passionate about wine and are looking for friends to attend tastings and vineyard tours with. We are in one of the most important wine capitals in the world and we should take advantage of this!

This is a group for anyone with any knowledge of wine, even people who only know one thing: that they like to drink it. :) Ideally, we will actually study some of the grapes indigenous to Italy and other parts of the world and learn a few things, all while enjoying wine and new company.

I would like to use this group to:

-Organize evenings of communal dinners accompanied by various wines (perhaps everyone can bring one bottle so we can compare and contrast)

-Go out for an aperitivo with friends at a local enoteca in Firenze

-Discover the best wine stores and vino sfuso that Firenze has to offer

-Make group trips to various vineyards in the Tuscan wine country

-Go out for drinks (wine, spirits, craft beer) and enjoy this beautiful city together, new friends and old

I'd like to build a nice-sized group of people who would be willing to meet up on a regular basis, maybe bi-weekly. I would assume it would be mostly English and Italian speakers, but I would love to meet anyone from any part of the world who loves wine, because we automatically have something in common. Plus, no words are needed when it comes to sharing a delicious bottle of wine, only smiles (wine-stained teeth be damned!).
