Hey Hey! Please do not send us a request if you just want to sleep here or come for business trip. We are travelers and we want to host travelers 😉 If I have time and you feel like it, I would be happy to show you my city, give you tips and spend time with you Couchsurfing isn't a free vacation, it's much more than that - experience, meet locals and have a good time 🍀 No racism, no discrimination, no antisemitism, no sexism, no homophobia. Our home is a safe place for everyone, no matter where you come from or who you want to be. ❤️
CURRENT MISSION Discover the world by bike At the end of June 2024, I returned from a year-long bicycle trip around the world that took me to 26 countries on 6 continents. I lived my big dream for a year and raised around 5000 € donations for the German Cancer Aid. My experiences on this tour were incredible and the support of the Couchsurfing community during the year on the road around the globe was overwhelming. Now it's time to give something back to the Couchsurfing community and I would be happy to welcome travelers from all over the world again to my home in my beautiful hometown of Hannover. Check out more about my epic world cycling trip on: https://www.instagram.com/vorwaerts.nach.weit/ ABOUT ME Hello folks, I'm Andreas, originally from lovely Hannover in Northern Germany. I think I am an open minded, curios, active and helpful guy, who loves to travel (preferably by bike), exploring new places and who likes to come in contact to people from all over the world. Being open-minded doesn't automatically mean that I want to engage in gay sex, thank you for understanding that, guys, I am STRAIGHT, no chance . Yes, I have to make it clear because I got messages like this in the past. I'm sure there's a lot else to tell about me- but most of the stuff you have to find out yourself. ; ) When I come to your place, it's not because I want to stay for free. Its because I truly want to meet you, because I read your profile and think that we can have a good time together and it would be great if I could share a part of your life for a little while. PLEASE ONLY SEND ME A REQUEST AFTER YOU HAVE READ MY PROFILE CAREFULLY (especially the page "my home") ! CLEAR EXPECTATIONS OF HOST AND COUCHSURFER PREVENT MISUNDERSTANDING! I don't host people who are not hosts also, who only want to be guests. If you are sort of person who has like 20-30 of references on guest side, or even more, and you are not able be a host for couchsurfers in your hometown, you dont need to message me. If you want to stay at me with a friend: please send me a link to his cs-profile. Because I got so many requests in the last time: wont answer someone who don't show me, that he accepts my house rules (see page "my home"), any "copy and paste" requests without mentioning my name or any request to host someone without a Couchsurfing profile. Sorry - no cs-profile, no couch. Please, if I accept to host you, I will also expect that you will host me in your town, if I will be traveling there, so please, if that is ok for you, start your request with sentence "I can host you also" and include also my keyword (see page "my home"), so that I can see that you accept my house rules. If you dont start your request like that, I would not respond you, unfortunately. Due to bad experiences in the past I do NOT offer access to my private Wi-Fi. https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2579833/profile/legacy I care for my couchsurfers. I'm not a free hostel, I want to hang out with you, show you what there is to see in my hometown and teach you what I know. And, you have to teach me something too! About yourself, about life, the universe, your culture, your language (maybe I already know one word), your country, how to cook your favorite dish,... I'm eager to know! PHILOSOPHY "Do, wat Du wullt, de Lüüd snackt doch!" (Low German proverb, meaning: make your own way, no matter what the others think) "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country!" (John F. Kennedy) "If you can dream it, you can do it." (Walt Disney)

REFUGEES FROM UKRAINE WELCOME! беженцы приветствуют! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ CURRENT MISSION ...working as a local journalist ABOUT ME 42 years now. coming from the province, i loved my (post-) student freelancing-life, now working as a local newspaper journalist in hannover. I used to organice music events, which im still doing from time to time. (sometimes even on our attic) former host of a local music radio show. I love to roam around on my motorcycle (suzuki gsx 750 ae / Honda CB1100 EX), hang around in a cafe or just stroll through citys, villages or other areas unknown. My own city, hannover, i know quite well and as a local journalist i can show/tell you some stuff if you´re interested.
Teacher, musician, little boss, big dreamer. I like to meet new people and to have those cool conversation about all the interesting stuff in our lives. I like to try new things, to hear new sounds and to learn new words. I like autumn and forests, playing guitar/piano and dancing waltz. I like to teach children all things that I can do. I work quite a lot, being a leader of the educational center for bilingual children, which I established in 2015. Due to huge amount of work I do not often have time to hang out, but we can always have a drink and chat at my place. I also accept travellers through Workaway and Worldpackers volunteering program, so if interested in longer stay, helping in the educational center, do not hesitate to ask for further information.
...Hello! :) Here's an easy going perfectionist, an active couch potato, a sailing mountaineer, a childish adult, a sunrise loving night owl, a social loner, an orderly chaot. You can also find me on bewelcome.org, trustroots.org, warmshowers.org and on workaway.info. In case you can't find a couch in Hannover, the cheapest accomodation I know about is Naturfreundehaus: https://naturfreundehaus-hannover.de/gaestegruppen/individualgaeste/ (single room 32 €). Cheapest food I know about is König Restaurant at Steintor or Alscham near Kröpcke (Syrian "Pizza" from 1,50 €). CURRENT MISSION Currently sleeping in several places each week (parents, bf, caravan, 99 y/o great aunt), so you gotta be flexible if you like to surf with me. I cannot confirm anything far ahead so I prefer last min requests. I quit my job and plan to travel more in 2025. Wanna join me? I'm looking for travel mates! - And for nice hosts of course. :) Things I currently have in mind are: - Not sure when but hopefully soon: Japan - Generally: some pilgrimage/long hike somewhere and hitchhike, hike or cycle through f.ex: England, Scandinavia, Balkans, BeNeLux, Japan and kayak+camping somewhere in Europe ABOUT ME I'd say I'm curious, honest, rather nice and every now and then chaotic and planless. I can be pretty loud and very quiet, shy and outgoing. People that don't know me well sometimes think i'm rude. But I'm actually a peace loving soul. However, watch out: you might find me being ironic, sarcastic, provoking. :P In 2010 I happened to receive a master's degree in space physics in Norway. Afterwards I wasn't quite sure sure what to do with it. I had my first job in Helsinki, lived there for a wonderful, long winter. But then the job was over and somehow I didn't look for a new one. - So, who would've thought? For the next 5 years I was basically unemployed and homeless. The best outcome of those years might be this cs profile, with all the experiences behind it. :] Besides various short trips I couchsurfed across asia for 18 months. Then I had enough, was so tired, homesick and quite overwhelmed by all the amazing impressions and hospitality. It took me three applications until Helsinki University accepted me for their pedagogical programme and so since 2017 I am a teacher. I'm still figuring out what school is the right one for me. I'm vegetarian, mainly vegan, I don't smoke and I don't drink. I just need chocolate. Dates work too. I'm not a big fan of going or eating out in general, I rather like board game-, movie-, cooking and hanging around nights with friends and cs'ers at home. I try to go an ecological, organic, environmentally friendly way. Some ideas for the future: - move back to Scandinavia - Done. - umm, move back home? 0.0 Or to where? Japan? - Oh, Stockholm it is. Huh. - Not. - But Japan, finally! l Hahaha, done! I'm finally back home. - So, where to next? - cycle or hitchhike and couchsurf through Scandinavia - Done, but not enough - explore Africa - learn languages (I wish I had more talent. Finnish, Japanese, Persian, Arabic, Chinese, Bangla, Russian, Spanish...?) - black belt ...getting there! --- Done! - travel through peaceful Syria - hitchhike to beijing via the -stans, take the train back through russia (and visit a school in every place i stop?) - have a family? - climb a 6000 m mountain - sail/hitch on boats around the planet - go skiing in Afghanistan - live in Japan - Done, but not enough - cycle from Delhi to Leh --- i don't like doing things alone so if you want to join any of these projects let me know! PHILOSOPHY Do unto others as you would have others do unto you - Bible A good traveler has no fixed plans and is not intent on arriving - Lao Tzu To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries - Aldous Huxley And there's no cure like travel To help you unravel The worries of living today. When the poor brain is cracking There's nothing like packing A suitcase and sailing away. [i'm actually not sure this really works] - Cole Porter Ut på tur aldri sur! - Norwegians Viel zu spät begreifen viele Die versäumten Lebensziele, Freude, Schönheit der Natur, Gesundheit, Reisen und Kultur. Darum, Mensch, sei zeitig weise! Höchste Zeit ist´s! Reise, reise! - Wilhelm Busch Ein Leben ohne Couchsurfing ist zwar möglich, aber sinnlos. - Frei nach Loriot

PHILOSOPHY be open for changes every time
Hello fellow couchsurfers, hoping to meet many of you! For now, I am new to couchsurfing, but I'm not new to traveling and meeting new people! I love exploring places, and the experiences I've shared with the people I've met around the world have shaped my life in so many ways! It's more educating than anything you read in a book, really. Although I do love to read, and I do love to nerd out a little bit :D Right now I am looking to possibly move to Sweden permanently! So I'll need to stay in Sweden for some time to scout for jobs and my new home. Excited to meet some Swedes and learn more about the country, the cities and the language :) --- CAN NOT HOST IN HANOVER AT THE MOMENT, CURRENTLY IN STOCKHOLM 🌻 ---
