I have a spare bedroom and a couch, and a back house with a futon and a convertible bed depending on the timing of the request. There is quite a bit of space. Sometimes there might be other surfers staying as well. It's not uncommon especially in summertime. The more the merrier! I try to approve 90% of my requests unless I'm out of town! I unfortunately only have time to show you around on the weekends. Disclaimer: This is not Airbnb, this is not a 5 star hotel, this is my home that I'm opening up to you. I try to cook nearly every night and always will invite you for a meal. If you like to board game or play video games, even better...we'll sit down for some gaming 😉. I joined this great community on March 20th, 2006. CURRENT MISSION "Thinking globally, acting locally" PHILOSOPHY Life may be full of pain at times, but even then, it lets you know you're still alive. If I want a worldly perspective, then I'll go to a part of it and take in the live perspective to really gain knowledge from it.
I prefer staying in austere conditions than nice hotels or resorts. Big part of it is because I have a passion for disaster relief. I’ve created enough of my own disasters in life, so it is now time to give back. I have volunteered and worked for several agencies that allow me to deploy to places I would never think about going. I’m a lifelong learner (literally). Have been in school my entire life and still am in school (as a professor and student). I believe I can learn from anyone I meet, especially couchsurfer and hosts.
