First of all, I love people. I think we're pretty awesome all of us, and the beloved community that is Couchsurfing has had a deep impact on how I view the world and my place in it. I want to be part of building the kind of world that CS invites us to create together. One where kindness reigns supreme and the idea of strangers simply being friends we haven't yet met is our guiding light. I divide my year between my native Sweden and in San Diego, California. When in Sweden I'll be staying with family up in the north, Umeå, and we're always happy to help fellow Couchsurfers who want to experience life in a small village in the north. My father has hosted many Couchsurfers, from all over the world, via me - and he is more than happy to host! My family live close to nature, with fishing and a great respect of nature, we are more than happy to host you! If you come in summer I'll be happy to share my best advice for to go hiking, you're also more than welcome to join me and my father fishing. Our fishing season starts around early June, and it's such a joy being out in the early morning retrieving nets, an experience I long for each year and would be happy share with fellow Couchsurfers. When in San Diego we're happy to host aswell, we've got extra surfing boards and would be happy to show you some of the best SoCal beaches and surf spots! Right now I am located in Umeå, Sweden, and am doing my bit to contribute to the Couchsurfing community. I have been a member since 2006 and have hosted great people from near and far. I have also been hosted by some wonderful people around the globe. I am happy to share my small home with fellow Couchsurfers. I would like to add though, that I've felt a bit tired lately by copy/paste requests to stay where it's apparent the person is only searching for a free place to stay. As a member since 2006 and having hosted up to a 100 people, I really love this community and want to remain a contributing member in any way I can. One of my bestest friends, Gregory Kampf, is a CS host with the most in Canada, if you're planning any journets to Canada, you won't find a more precious soul than this guy here: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/gregory-kampf ABOUT ME Adventurer. PHILOSOPHY Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Can't go wrong with that one. Couchsurfing is a great example of this philosophy. You scratch my back in the outskirts of say Aix-en-Provence I will definitely scratch your back in Stockholm. And I will scratch it with great pleasure, because it does not only ease an itch within you but within me as well. Being kind feels good, for all of us. Being kind is a good thing.

Hey there, Im Julian, 23, from germany. My family wasnt much of a travelling type that's why I hope I can travel more with cousurfing and make it more fun. I like to see the places from the view of the people who live there, thats why I think this could be really interesting to do I can't upload more photos for some reason, they are quite old and I don't look as young anymore
Decided a while back to quit focus on my monetary career, and instead try to become the person the kid in me always wanted. Now hold a degree in sociology, work as a choir leader, play in bands and enjoy smaller projects!

I like to meet new people from different parts of the world with different cultural diversities. Like to listen their traveling experiences and cultural history. I moved to north Sweden in 2015 from India to live next to nature and do lots of winter sports and research studies. I used to live at the north of Sweden in a beautiful city called Luleå where sun never sets during summer and winter is dark and white with snow. But northern lights (auroras borealis) blooms in the sky during winter. I moved to Örnsköldsvik from Luleå for work. After living 4.5 years, I moved up to Umeå. I live close to nature and I love more nature than city noise. I will enjoy more in a stuga in the middle of nowhere rather than in a bar or pub. You are welcome if you want to have a beer or coffee or need any help or want to experience Swedish nature or winter activities. I like photography specially animals or wildlife or birds or nature or mountain. I also love hiking, ski touring, climbing and ice climbing, downhill skiing, offpist skiing as well as cross-country skiing. I do winter camping during winter with ski touring. I also like kayaking and during summer I do multiday kayaking trip with my kayak. Mountaineering is one of my another passion. I have been to only 6000 m in Andes and some 4000 m in alps. Trying to do more and hoping to reach 8000 m one day. I prefer to be in nature than crowded place. I can share with you some outdoor activities and give you some basic tips if you never done it before. I prefer to be in nature more than in a festival with crowds. During my summer vacation and winter vacation, I always travel other continents than Europe. Often I travel to South America. Other times when I’m working, weekends are the special for me to go to Swedish mountains and nature. P.S. Most probably I won’t reply if your account is not verified.
The warmest of greatings to you all! My name is Martin, and I come from a small place in northern Sweden called Jokkmokk. I've lived all over the country, but right now I reside in Umeå. I find the city an okey place to live, but I have this strong itch of having to get out into the world. I'm trying to learn German right now (with emphasis on trying), and my goal is to move to Germany in the future, hope as soon as the next year. I have been working as a traindriver for the past ten years, which again, I find okey, but it's not something I see myself doing in the future. What I really find interesting is horology, astronomy and navigation. They are all new fields for me, so I can't hold a very sophisticated conversation about the topics, but I'm learning new stuff all the time, and I hope to become a watchmaker in Germany! Apart from that, I read a lot, try to exercice whenever I can. I like riding my bikes, both a regular one and a motorcycle. My favourite thing to do on vacation is hiking, and this year I'll reenact Sound of Music by going over the Alps (which I've done now, and OMG, was für ein Abenteuer! Apart from that, Sweden really offers good possibilities for hiking. The reason why I don't have any references or friends on this app is because this is quite literally the first time I've heard of this app, and I've never used it before. I've used other apps to get in touch with people abroad, so I'm hoping I can get some similar results with this one. I really hope somebody wants to meet up, just to have a drink or have a chat. I just really want to make some connections when I'm abroad, or when you are in Umeå, for that matter!
Usually you will find me studying or reading in our local library, hanging out with my friends or listening to all kinds of music and singing/ dancing my heart out. When I am not doing that, I go on long walks in nature or for a run with one of our dogs:) Sometimes when I get feeling I may play a song that has been stuck in my head on my keyboard or guitar. But I am self-taught so its not on a high level haha, I just do it for fun😊 I am also a youth leader in my local church and I have also just started volunteering for the student amnesty group. My big dream is to become a medical doctor (or a psychiatrist)💕💫 A fun fact about me is that I recently started writing poems, most of all I like writing poems to others as a small gift which usually are very much appreciated! I am also half Latinamerican and I try to learn speaking Spanish and dancing salsa and cumbia💃 Others often describe me as calm, funny and a bit shy at first. I don’t drink alcohol and am very used to animals (we have 6 dogs at home🐾and am used to cats, chickens and horses) and I can offer to cook, take dishes, walk dogs or clean. As thank you I will try to invite you to a surprise event together, out for a meal or other🌸 NOTE: I am NOT interested in dating and am NOT available.
