Hi, I'm Erik! I live in a small town 10km north of the city of Deventer. I live in an eco-friendly neighbourhood with a lot of tiny houses and nature. I work as a teacher of English and Intercultural Communication at a small university of social sciences. In my free time I love reading books, making music or going out into nature. I also love learning about languages and cultures. Because I live in a tiny house, I can only host 1 or max 2 people, and preferably only for one night, since space is limited. You can always put in your request, but keep this in mind.

On a quest to see how many foraged fermentation-experiment I can create before I poison myself. Always on a hunt for pretty feathers, shells and pebbles. Unsure if I therefore resonates most with a kid or a crow🤸‍♀️ Current motivations in life shifted from traveling outwards to inwards, growing the stability in myself and my values, interests, soft skills. I tend to still find myself on the move outside the country, but less for places, more for projects, loved ones, experience, music, movement.  If you loose track of me, check a tree 🌴(and come join me!) ~☀️ I'm not here to date, casual flings or anything sexual. I'm here to share intimate/genuine connections in a place where I precieve it, easier to find amongst other travelers. Depending on my availability; Food or to join my randomly, hectic schedule. Kickboxning, music Jams, estetic/intuitive dances, cooking with friends or neighbours and also alot, alot of Uni meetings, working with my start-up or volunteering. You can tag along if It's of interest and suitable to bring someone with. Not so much into partying (still appreciate the art of a good red wine though) nor spending time in bars but can get out if there is live music or a gezellig moment (Dutch word for cosy).

I'm a familyman (69): married with Alet and father of 3 children, grandfather of 7 grandchildren. I'm retired and love to create adventures.

CURRENT MISSION Dream, Dare, Discover! ABOUT ME We are Linda & Maarten. A couple who loves to travel around the world, but also enjoying our place in Zwolle with our little boys:) We love to meet new people and cultures and Couchsurfing is a great way to travel, meet the local people and really get the vibe of the country visiting. We both live in Zwolle. Linda is a nurse in the hospital and Maarten works in Zwolle in the subsidy world. PHILOSOPHY LOVE life! & Carpe Diem :D

I was trained as a tropical forester, had a wonderful practical year in Kenya, and afterwards got to work in Andalucia, greening the desert - 20 km from the current wildfires (July 2026). After meeting the sole permaculturalist in Spain I followed that interest downunder, travelled for a year incl. India and Nepal, and started the movement back home in the Netherlands. My work as a social entrepreneur has expanded the sustainable vision and I got to advocate for living soil practices - made a film that won an international festival - and went to introduce food forestry and regenerative agriculture. I count that as my legacy. I love healthy food… I started doing serious spiritual work (Diamond Approach) decades ago, and continue to evolve my interest. I am now a prepensioner, look up old friends, love day trips, spend time in my wagon on a minicamping, sing tenor in a good choir, do some care work for friends, and am active as the local ‘climate mayor’.

Adventurous and always eager to learn

Always try to find ways to live a free and fullfiling life. Traveling and connecting with people have always been very valuable to me. With couchsurfing its easy to combine both. Its also teaching me alot about giving and receiving. I currently work as a social worker have a pretty irregular schedule. I’m not a big planner. So if you want to stay i prefer lastminute requests. A week in advance is also fine. My studio is located close to the city centre of Zwolle. I can provide you with a comfortable couch to sleep on. Also I like to interact a bit with couchsurfers that stay at my place and share a meal for example. I don’t have many rules, just respect me and my place. If you’re passing by Zwolle and you just want to hangout for a coffee or a meal, let me know! Always nice to meet new people ;) Edit: Next destination: Indonesia in january and New Zealand in february 2026 :) I took 6 months unpaid leave from work to travel :)
