CURRENT MISSION To live life as hands on as possible ABOUT ME Isn't this what all the rest of the description categories on my profile are for? PHILOSOPHY I overheard an old timer at an open mic in Galveston Texas say recently "I'm just trying to stay above ground and play a couple songs here and there." He was easily twice my age but that's about where I'm at. I've learned that the less concerned I am with results, the happier I tend to be.
I spent a few months backpacking in Europe in 2012, and that is when I "surfed" for the first time. I am truly thankful for all of the people that I have gotten to know in this community over the years. I enjoy meeting new people and seeking out new experiences, so I can be easily convinced to plan something fun together! I spend as much of my free time playing outside as possible! Running, biking, packrafting, skiing, climbing, and adventure racing. A couple of thoughts that are resonating with me right now: Less is more. "The hardest thing in the world is to simplify your life. It's so easy to make it complex." - Yvon Chouinard “The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.” - Henry David Thoreau
Hello! I am Sarah Jane. A few things about me: People are my true passion at heart. Learning how we can coexist, and connect from so many different backgrounds, families and cultures is fascinating. I love hearing stories and what brings people joy in this beautiful world. I live in Missoula Montana and finished school for psychology and social work. For one year I went to school for wilderness survival certifications. I find that nature connects and heals us in many ways. I typically travel light and don't need much to be comfortable. Overall I am laid back, and flexible to change. Would love to meet/host you and share life's shenanigans. :)
I’m an outdoors enthusiast with a strong passion for the environment. I love learning about plants and animals, and I'm always looking to improve my identification ability. I enjoy trying new foods and I'm a decent cook, but I always considered myself more of a baker. I am a pretty laid back and go with the flow type of person and I'm looking forward to having great conversations with people from different backgrounds. Overall, I love having new experiences and I will never turn down the opportunity to do something adventurous!

Families and well behaved pets are welcome. Pets usually sleep outside. (ours do) Plus we offer free internet!! Woo-Hoo! That said, we do not have a TV, microwave, or coffee maker ... :-) Just a Hint: We get a lot of generic "copy-n-paste" CS requests. Your chances of a quick reply and being hosted (by us and other hosts I'd imagine) are greatly increased if you direct your request specifically to your host. For us you may want to use words like, "I will gladly cook for your crew!" (we will of course pay for groceries - there are 5+ of us after all!), or "I will gladly clean up after myself", or better yet, "I would LOVE to weed the garden!" ( it needs to be said with enthusiasm, be it fake or real. :-) Our family enjoys SCUBA diving, camping, hiking, biking, gardening, recycling, low impact living and any sort of road trip. Generally we don't host people who have newly created accounts, are unverified, and have no references. But we have been known to make exceptions so give it a try! :) We are shying away from hosting the "one quick stopover, arrive late, leave early" crowd. Sorry about that. We are looking for people who want to experience Missoula and Montana. Multiple days with people who want to interact with the family - that's our specialty! PHILOSOPHY Critical thinking. The Scientific Method. Have a healthy dose of skepticism. Be kind and have patience.
I am originally from outside Chicago in the USA but now live in Missoula, Montana. I lived in rural Mongolia for two years in the Peace Corps (a non-religious and federal volunteer program) and it was a life changing experience for me. I changed many of my life goals upon my return to the US and moved out west. There I have pursued a career as a wildland fire fighter, a childhood dream of mine that also happens to be very conducive to traveling. I have embraced a seasonal and nomadic lifestyle of work during the warm and dry months and international travel during the cold and wet ones.
ABOUT ME Laid back.
Hello! I am a bike traveler going across Latin America and the United States via bus and bike! Currently, I am traveling from Florida to Montana. I have a sleeping pad and a tent, so I just need a little floor space (but I prefer a couch or bed :) ) Seeing Latin America has been a lifelong dream of mine as I'm a huge fan of the food and culture.I just graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Environmental Science. I love hiking, biking, tree climbing, and learning other languages. I enjoy getting to know people and exchanging stories, and am always looking for travel tips.I definitely consider myself a foodie. While I have a vegetarian dietary preference, I'll eat (almost) anything put in front of me! Also for your information, I am deaf and use cochlear implants to hear. I speak English and Spanish fluently, and know some American Sign Language and Portuguese.I also am a tutor and offer lessons in Spanish and English! I am also a drag performer always looking for show opportunities. If you know of any drag performers or shows in your town or city, please let me know! I'm a bit introverted. If I don't chat much, it's nothing personal. I prefer taking walks together, sightseeing, or cooking!
CURRENT MISSION "Travel is useful, it exercises the imagination. All the rest is disappointment and fatigue." - Celine ABOUT ME Traveling and writing, that is my life. I want to meet kindred souls and expand my non-blood family. I've come to the point in my life where I want a family of my own creation, and that doesn't necessarily involve marriage and children. I've encountered a few souls in my travels that I now consider a part of my slowly growing extended family of artists and wanderers, and I seek to expand this new and exciting family. PHILOSOPHY Find something to live for and embrace it, because so many people never find that something.

I’m on my second three month solo trip and I’ll be wandering around Europe until the end of September. I’m pretty easy going and quiet, I love getting to meet new people and learn about their life journeys.
