CURRENT MISSION I am 1 month and a half into the biggest adventure of my life so far. I uprooted my whole life and moved back to Canada to explore and go to Uni and just be here! I'm hunting for a band, and I really want to go to Emily Carr Institute in Sept, next year. ABOUT ME I was born in White Rock, B.C where I lived for 6 years with my two parents and my 2 younger brothers and 2 half sisters. My Dad took a job in Rochester, Minnesota so we moved there when I was 6, just with my Mum, Dad and 2 younger brothers and we lived there for around 4/5 years I think. Time all merges into one I get confused. Anyway so my rents split and my Mum took my brothers and I down to New Zealand - her birthplace! I lived there for 10 years, completed high school and got into first year university when I decided that I wanted to come back to Canada and explore and reconnect with family and find the country I called home for so long. I suppose now I say that both are my home, and it's true. I left my Mum, my two brothers, my partner and all my best friends there because I felt such a strong pull I couldn't ignore anymore. I think of myself as a bit of a nomad and at this point i'm just working and living and breathing and waiting for a month until I can move into a place on July 1st. This is where I need some help! I'm fun and active and (I hate this crap - it's like writing a CV) I love meeting new people and talking about nothing and everything. I love good food and art and music and little things most people don't. If you have any questions about me, feel free to ask! I can't think of anything else :) Alex. PHILOSOPHY I live my life for love and for experience. I appreciate every little thing and every person who walks in (and out) of my life. I love the quote "We are spiritual beings having a human experience" and I totally believe we're here to live and to learn and to teach. I'm just following my heart by packing up and moving across the world - but I know that my intuition is strong and that there are things waiting for me here that I have to go out and find.

Dlaczego jestem na Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING At the moment I myself am needing a couch! I'm biding time till I can move into my own place but i'm craving meeting new people and I don't have a lot of money so I thought that couchsurfing would be an awesome experience. I'd love to host someday when I have my own place and my own couch! COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I have never couchsurfed before but I have stayed with people and all around!

This could get long and complicated. Movies - I'm such a HUGE movie person. I love watching everything, all the time. I even worked in a movie theater for almost 3 years! My favourite things to watch are festival films, student films, foreign films and generally something with a twist or a bit more depth to it. I love to learn and I love to soak information I find that these and documentaries really capture my interest. But I love a good horror, and a good chick flick. I love comedies and dramas and action movies and EVERYTHING. It just has to be good. But the occasional crappy movie is funny too. Music - I love every kind of genre of music, doesn't matter what it is. My favourite bands are Beach House, The Veils (and a million other NZ bands) Arcade Fire, Memory Tapes, Incubus, I love weird stuff like Kate Bush, Barbra Streisand and The Andrew Sisters. I love listening to old show music and I love musicals and musical theatre. I love R&B and Hip hop, Kid Cudi is a favourite and I love old school. Seriously, don't get into this with me I will not stop. Books? My favourite author is Kurt Vonnegut, I love reading a lot and I always have 1 or 2 books on the go. Right now i'm reading an account of the atom bomb testings at the Pacific Proving Ground and i'm also reading Girl With a Dragon Tattoo, just to see what all the fuss was about.

I've seen the huge full moon above the waters in Tutukaka, New Zealand. The stars are so clear and the moon was incredible. It's moments like those I treasure. I've seen the sun rise and the sun set in Fiji, and dolphins jumping from the sea water. I can't seem to think of many right now - but I will add if I remember, I know there are things I have done where I've walked away thinking "that was absolutely amazing". Stepping off the plane when I arrived in Vancouver from New Zealand was one of those moments. Just a feeling of "holy crap what am I doing i'm actually here this is amazing and scary and insane all at the same time!" ...but amazing none the less.

Teach - Life lessons i've learned, guitar, and drawing. Cooking new recipes, drying flowers, making arts and crafts. I'm sure there are things I can teach! Learn - I like learning about what people have gone through and how they made it out the other side. I like hearing and learning about how people have had success in their lives and vice versa. Life lessons. I'll probably learn anything!! I LOVE learning new stuff I love hoarding information and new skills. Share - :)
