When I travel, I like to see the culture from the inside, couchsurfing is a good way to be closer to people who live there.

Not sure it's amazing but I traveled solo to Japan for 3 weeks without planning anything before getting there and I didn't speak a single word of Japanese apart "Thanks" and "Yummy". I ended up visiting 15 places from Tokyo to Okinawa.
