COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Really my couchsurfing experience as a host started before i even knew about the web site and concept. Not speaking about friends of friends coming to visit the big apple, i had a policy in my coffeeshop (i owned a coffeeshop called AKA Potion in BK) to follow the rules of Hospitium. The Rule of Hospitium, very ancient greek god, was to offer hospitality to any traveller, some drink or food, before even asking for the travellers' name, the traveler in exchange would tell his travel stories. I hosted in my coffeeshop many travellers for food or to sleep in the cafe. That sense of hospitability has been mostly lost in our overpopulated and mechanized "civilisation". The right of traveling freely, fondamental right of any mamal (therefore human) is in danger specially in the US. hosting and traveling works together and enrich each other, they are fundamental for our race, even with intenet and communication, every travellers know that. News, information, or ciberchat is not the thing. Couchsurfing is one hope. This is why i couch surf.
