CURRENT MISSION Documenting human presence on earth by aerial photography. ABOUT ME Hallo, my name ist Tom Hegen, I am a Photographer and Graphic Designer from Munich, Germany. For my work, I spent a lot of time in the air. I am on helicopters, hot-air balloons or small planes to document human presence on earth. I am interested in the concept of the term »Anthropocene« and like to look into the relationship between man and nature and how we as human beings affect nature. HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I joined this wonderful network back in 2010. Since that time I had some great experiences couchsurfing in New Zealand and Australia. I had great hosts. Occasionally I also meet up with some other couchsurfers in cities or try to show people around in my hometown.

My civil service I did for one year in New Zealand back in 2010. I spent there one year, doing volunteer service at a college. I supported there disabled students. I enjoyed every minute abroad! It's been a fantastic time, with fantastic people around! I learned to love the New Zealand backcountry, especially during hiking and photographing.
