HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING Traveling has reasserted my faith in genuine hospitality. Over the past few years, I have been hosted by families, offered free meals, free rides and treated as part of the family! There is no better way to learn about a culture then to spend time with the people who live in it. I view couchsurfing as a wonderful opportunity to share each others culture, views, ideas, beliefs and food! I will warn you, I ask a lot of questions! I should also warn my hosts that I don't eat meat (love seafood though!) COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE My first couchsurfing experience was not planned. It was an offer made by an owner at a hostel in Jaisalmer, India over a cup of chai at 4am after a cold train ride. I ended up staying over a week. He taught me how to cook Indian food and I helped him with his English. I met some great friends here that I still connect with today! I continued to couchsurf in several Asian countries (Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia..) with and without the help of this website.

I am really looking for is to do one significant thing for someone else that will forever change their life in a positive way.
