I've had nothing but good experiences hosting and being hosted by folks on couchsurfer. One time I was driving across the United States, and my car had a problem in Cortez, CO. I hopped on couchsurfer in a cafe, and within a few hours the kindest couple had offered to host me and my friend while my car got fixed! Wherever I've stayed with CS friends, I learn so much more than I would have traveling in a hotel or something like this. There is more than enough to go around these worlds, and I appreciate a platform to spread resources and energy that might not otherwise be shared!
