I’m Guillermo Macías, a Mexican cultural manager, textile designer, and social innovator, passionate about the intersections between tradition, identity, and contemporary life. I co-founded Kip Tik (www.kiptik.mx), a social enterprise dedicated to empowering indigenous and rural communities in Mexico through cultural heritage, fair trade, and collaborative design. As a social and cultural strategist, I’ve spent over a decade building networks between artisans, designers, NGOs, and international institutions, facilitating spaces of exchange, learning, and inclusion. My work thrives on meaningful collaborations, intercultural dialogue, and community-led development. I’m about to start a Master’s degree in Madrid, focused on culture and innovation. During my stay, I’ll be looking for temporary housing options and opportunities to connect with local creatives, cultural practitioners, and social innovators. Dlaczego jestem na Couchsurfing
To meet people who live with purpose and curiosity. I want to discover the essence of each place through its stories, its food, and its people. Couchsurfing allows me to connect beyond tourism — to learn, share, and build bridges.
Muzyka, filmy i książki
Movie buff and curious reader. I love films that blend mystery, symbolism, and cultural narratives — like The Ninth Gate or Orlando. I’m drawn to books about identity, memory, and social change.
Jedna niesamowita rzecz, którą zrobiłem/am
Built a social enterprise that celebrates indigenous identity, connects rural artisans with global markets, and creates jobs based on dignity, creativity, and community values.
Ucz, Ucz się, Dziel się
I can teach: textile design, traditional techniques, and community-based entrepreneurship. I want to learn: new perspectives, local rituals, and how people reimagine tradition in their daily lives. I can share: stories from the communities I work with, delicious Mexican knowledge, and lots of laughter.
Co mogę zaoferować Hostom
Open conversations, cultural insights, homemade food, and maybe a textile souvenir or two. I’m also happy to share my design skills or help out in creative ways — always with joy and respect.
