I am new to the Couchsurfing community having never hosted or been a guest before. I have met many people over the years who recommended that I try it out. So, here I am. My volunteering experience with Helpx has taught me that the most fulfilling travelling experiences are to be found when I fully immerse myself in the culture of the country that I am visiting. I believe the best way to achieve that is by staying and socialising with the local community. So, that's why I'm here.

I've always liked electronica and dance music. However, as I get a bit older I tend not to go to as many clubs as I used to. With that in mind I'm very open to all sorts of music including rock, classical and traditional. I like to keep up to date with current affairs and try to absorb some of that through documentaries and topical discussion programs. John Pilger, Louis Theroux and Werner Herzog and usually pretty reliable. I'm currently reading about 4 different books on the Kindle app, they include Burmese history and a football biography.
