I have a lot of great reasons for being on Couchsurfing! I think it's perfect for people like me who are interested in learning about local culture and customs, as it provides an opportunity to experience way of locals' life. I like to get that unique perspective on the area I'm visiting. Not gonna lie it also frees up more money for other expenses like food, transportation... That being said, I personally like to treat myself when I travel. For me, the essence of traveling is about embracing new experiences without being overly concerned about every single expense. I do keep an eye on my budget, but it's not my primary focus. Hence, preferring booking a hotel/airbnb if I don’t feel somewhat connected with my CS host. It's interesting to observe that some travelers, especially from western cultures, tend to look for 200% free experiences. I've encountered individuals who lean towards anti-capitalist views primarily when it affects their finances 🤣
