I was introduced to Couchsurfing by my roommate - I had a fantastic experience on my first trip and got to meet some awesome people. Since then, I've gotten to host a bunch of people and surf some more. It's awesome getting to meet travelers coming to the DC area, and getting to know locals when I travel who can show me the best things about their hometown.

Some favorite music: Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Deep Purple, Blue Öyster Cult, The Cars, The Band (pretty much any classic rock), RHCP, The Offspring, Sublime, some country here and there (mainly older stuff, but also ZBB). I enjoy old school jazz when I'm in the mood, too. Movies: Not a huge moviegoer, but I like Dr. Strangelove, the Princess Bride, Lord of the Rings, Christopher Nolan movies, and a mish-mash of other stuff. Books: I really like Kurt Vonnegut's work (especially Cat's Cradle), the Foundation series by Asimov, Lord of the Rings (again), and a lot of classic fiction. I also like short stories (Kafka, Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky) and poetry (Langston Hughes is my favorite).
