Visiting the Temple of the Holy Water in Bali. Balinese Hindus believe it to have great spiritual and purifying powers and go to for ritual. As a visitor to the holy site, I was required to cover my lower body with a sarong before changing into a different sarong to take a sacred ritual bath. There’s a specific routine to be followed which I did but the formal routine is strictly meant for pilgrims and devotees. I was overcome with emotion as I absorbed this beautiful spiritual experience, by a ritual to clean negative elements that exist in the human body. This water source is believed to be the source of life, wellness, prosperity and hold magical curative properties. A life changing experience for me that I’d recommend for any traveller to Bali.
