I prefer couchsurfers who want to hang out, talk and share adventerous travel stories rather than those who only want/offer a bed for the night. I have quite a few times preferred staying in a hotel than staying at an empty place of a couchsurfer. Couchsurfing is a great way to connect. It's awesome to exchange information about the where and what and with whom when coming to a new part of the world.
