Hi, you can search bus/train lines via www.cp.sk or www.idos.cz They are identical. Put Krakow to space for From and Strba to space for To. Strba (Štrba in Slovak) is a place where you need to get to. I was checking connections. The easiest way is to get bus to Ruzomberok (Ružomberok) and then take a train to Strba. There many trains from Ruzomberok to Strba so if you don't catch one, you can take another. But, please, be aware that there are 3 train providers. So you need to have correct ticket for correct train. If you know exact date and time you would like to travel I can help you with searching. You can also search rideshare at www.blablacar.sk There are sometimes people travelling from Poland to Slovakia who might take you - but rides are not very frequent. For Tatry, I am not sure if there is any hostel, I guess not. It's more hotel area, especially around Strbske pleso. You can check possibilities at booking.com In Tatry, there is often an option to find private accomodation in private house, you can find cheap guesthouses there. However, I am not sure if those people promote accomodation via booking. The webpages I know are only in Slovak. But it is not a peak season now, so there is chance that you can find accomodation directly at place.
