Is it allowed for couples to be in one hotel room and walk in hands?

Me and my boyfriend are travelling to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I have read a lot about a lot of restrictions for couples that are not married.Starting from staying in one hotel room and walking around in hands. Is it really that strict with all the rules and are they checking when we check in a hotel if we have marriage certificate? I understand that kissing might be too much for conservative country like this,but walking in hands is kinda handy also not to lose each other :D

Anyways,sorry for my bad humor, but any comments regarding this matter are welcome. It's our first trip so far,if anyone has been in similar situation,let us know Do's and Dont's !

Read this will help u.Briefly its not allowed but in reality alot of couple are living like this without any problems.Btw dubai is not conservative as u say,U will find it open like europe.

Hey! Dubai like any other place is full of hypocrites you see.. Staying in a hotel room shouldn't be a problem.. But holding hands in public.. The locals get offended and start yelling at you.. (personal experience).. Kissing is TOO MUCH :P unless you're isolated and no one can see

There is no hypocrisy, they can do whatever they want as long as they are respectful . Stop moaning about locals , as there is no discrimination in dubai , everyone is equal and talking of where people are from or racial references are very punishable by UAE law.

I just can’t withstand people that tend to brush a whole community with the same brush. UAE is doing all it can to prevent polarizing amongst the people, that is the last thing we want.

Don't say local people say Muslims not accepting people treating like animals at street and Muslims community not accepting sex without marriage like all religion's even if Christian people doing but it's not allowed in their religion

Holding hands is acceptable Checking in, in the same room is acceptable, no one will bother you Kissing in public is restricted Hugging is acceptable

I've been living here for 20 years. I can tell you that it is safe to walk hand in hand here as couple and check-in @ the hotel as couple should not cause you any problem.

Whether you are isolated or not, please restrict from kissing or hugging romantically in public.

Well practically staying at a hotel as a couple is fine. People do not have any problems. But strictly legally speaking it is not allowed.

No one will ever come checking for this or bother you.

But it's good to be aware of law, because in case any problem happened and police did get involve due to any other problem, then depending in situation this could be made an issue.

You'll get a lot of mixed comments, people in dubai are tolerant or at least most of them. just don't kiss or show "intimate affection" in public and you'll be fine.

They say dress moderatley but with the heat people usually wear summer clothes. Just don't wear something waaaay too revealing during day. shorts and tshirts/tops are ok. the worst that you might see is just having looks or some local ladies yelling xD all in all everyone is tolerant. you'll be find once you come and see how things are like.

Holding hands is completely fine. I used to personally do it and you'll find that many people do. So when you go there you'll find out yourself.

For staying in a hotel, hotels don't have these marriage restrictions for tourists. Some hotels check marriage certificates for people who live in this country in places where prostitution is present in an attempt to fight it.

And honestly, Dubai has a lot of prejudiced people, so if you are from country X, and there are a lot of prostitutes in the UAE from that country, hotels might be suspicious. But for European tourists everything is more than normal. By the way, I used to spend some nights in hotels with my ex so I know what I'm talking about.

Bottom line, There is nothing to worry about with you and your boyfriend neither in Dubai nor Abu Dhabi

Depends on how much intimacy you wanna show in public .. if nothing out of the ordinary then you will be just fine.
