I dont live in Mexico City anymore but look for a room in Condesa or Roma (preferably Roma Norte) The metrobus connects you all the way to UNAM and its easy to walk or take the bus from these neighborhoods and they are very nice to go out at night or walk during the day ;)

With the recent earthquakes events and the crimes in that part of the city... Is not the best place to live, at less for a student, i think so...
Try to look in www.dadaroom.com It’s a good choice, i would try to look around Copilco or Coyoacan since it’s near the university. Also if you don’t have troubles with living a but “far” try looking Del Valle, Napoles, Mixcoac or even Roma and Condesa.
Wich school of UNAM? Theres 6 universities in Mexico City, "Acatlán, Ciudad Universitaria (This is the central part), Aragón, Iztacala, Zaragoza and Izcalli" Maybe i know someone near from Universitary City but, you have to confirm where are you going to study.

Yeah segundamano.mx and mercadolibre.com.mx, both shall feature nice offers in good zones, luckily close to the Ciudad Universitaria (assuming this campus is where you'll be attending).

Copilco is the best if youre gonne be in CIALC, maybe if you dont care about living in a popular neighborhood you can try santo domingo but it can be a bit dodgy, but lots of exchange students live around that area cause its really cheap aswell

I've a room in nice flat, with a beautiful view over the city, in Colonia Del Valle (close to Coyocan). Underground station is just in front of the building.
The room is available for 2 months, from 15th July until 15th September.
Maybe this is a good option to stay while looking for the perfect home for your whole time in Mexico City.

Try Copilco, is very close to UNAM, you can walk from this area to the University, and is not expensive, around 130 and 300 Euros
