There's no simple answer! Newcastle has a large number of pubs from the swish to the seedy. What sort of place are you looking for - and is your primary interest the place or the beer?
Both. Is hard to choose, I like all sorts of places with good and, if possible, cheap beer or not so expensive... I'm Brazil i would say that I like English pubs but to say that here is kind of nonsense
Head to ouseburn, the cluny, kiln, free trade and Tyne bar are all worth a look. In the centre Newcastle taps, bierrex and Tyne tavern are good
If you're beer lover I recommend this place! The Town Mouse Ale House! It's my fav place even it's quite small and alway busy but that's the atmosphere suit for beer! It's located nearby Haymarket metro station. NE1 7PG for the postcode. I hope you enjoy it! Cheers!
try the alchemist for cocktails. Head of steam for beers. And trillions for a 'rock' atmosphere. Grey's club /rise for a relaxed club fibe. The gay clubs for dancing. The beer keller, for drinking way too much steins of beer. Owww, and the bridge tavern for a relaxed bar that has a small brewery in the back
Best pub in the north of England!
As above the run up the ouseburn is fantastic. Free trade, Tyne bar, Cumberland arms and Cluny. In the city there is a nice run along the quayside- Crown Posada, Bridge Tavern (brews beer onsite) and then the Broad chare are within a 2 min walk of one another. Tavernale in bridge tavern is a fab pint
Thanks for all of you! All pubs listed and will try to be in all of them and if possible to list what i thought.
Oi, to further this discussion/question. pcking up on Andrew's reply: Next saturday I will spend an evening/night/sunday morning in Newcastle. I'm a beer enthousiast. I like real ales, traditional cask ales, but I must say I like hoppy monsters more, and amplified stouts.. You could say I like hipster beers, but hipster beers 5 years ago, no salt of fruit in my beer please. Anyway, let's not get carried away. When I'm here I would like to find something special. So in a sense the beer is my primary interest. But I most enjoy relaxed places, places where people are not too dressed up, where the music is not too loud and hip (I would like music that was hip 25 or 45 years ago, but maybe that's too much to ask ;) ). With that in mind, what would you recommend?
