Horse Riding?

We're two Danish girls coming to Slovenia at the end of June, and we would love to go horse riding! But all the places to rent a horse it seems to be for just a few hours or a specific guided tour, and as Thilde (the other girl) is an experienced rider it would be cool to be able to just rent a horse and have a trip around. So the question is: do you know if it is possible to just rent a horse without getting a guided tour?

Looking so much forward to coming to Slovenia!

Hello Astrid, As far as I am familiar with horse riding it is not possible to rent a horse for a ride as long as you are not acquainted with horse, owner and local landscape.

Hi Astrid,

such things are usually only possible if you are a long term member of a horse riding club (so the people know your skill, trust you and you also know the horse and the terrain).

However, you might be surprised with the guided tours as well - usually you can arrange it to be as long as you want and if you are experienced enough you will get to trot and gallop to your heart's content :)

I've had good experience with Ranč Vihar few years back - the horses were well behaved, the tour was long and included lots of gallop stretches. But I'm not sure if they are still open, the website is down. Maybe you can still give it a try (+386 40 720 017).
