Trekking in Meghalaya and other NE India parts in Monsoon ok?

Hi travel family, I am considering a trip to the northeast. I am interested in trekking and I was wondering if it is safe to trek these days with the monsoon. I know it is going to rain; however, I am hoping that there will also be some clear days to enjoy nature.

More specific questions related to locations and monsoon below:

I was thinking of flying into Siliguri or Guwahati in 1-2 weeks. Depending on if conditions are safe enough for trekking around Darjeeling so I can see the mountains (even if just a short trek like Tiger Hill), I would go there first, before heading to Guwahati. I'm currently uncertain about this, as I read somewhere that the nature sanctuary around Tiger Hill is closed in the summer. Does anyone know if Tiger Hill in Darjeeling is trekkable in monsoon?

More relevant to Guwahati, I would go there a few days after Darjeeling and would like to focus my time on walking in nature in the surrounding areas. My main destinations would be Shiilong and parts around Meghalaya, though I am also just starting to research nature in Assam. Do you have any suggestions?

How's the weather looking these days? I've been holding off on buying flight tickets due to uncertainty about travelling in the monsoon season.
