There is a lot to see, like all new buildings of Skopje 2014 project: baroque, pirate boats etc. It's very "unique". There is also few museum, as the City Museum in the old train station. There is a permanent exhibition about the earthquake of 1963 there, it's pretty interesting. With some archeological objects and temporary exhibition. You can also go to the fortress, for the view. And not far from there you can also go to the Contemporary Art Museum. Of course there is the Old bazaar area, really great. And the big market at the end of it, you can really find anything there with cheap prices. Also, the Daut Pasha Hamam Museum is pretty great to discover art from the region, old paintings but also contemporary. And it was a Hamam while ago so the place is interesting for itself.

About food, there is one restaurant at Debar Maalo I would recommend https://goo.gl/maps/sgDxzehEZA32 You can get traditionnal food there, you can also order one plate with different specialities, it's perfect to taste different things. Debar Maalo is the neighborhood perfect for the night life. And in Old Bazaar you can also taste kebapchi and tafte gratche at one of the best place : Destan https://goo.gl/maps/q8kb2g8XWbD2 There are also a lot of different dessert you can try as baklava, triletche... It's pretty good here : https://goo.gl/maps/UnYR3ijj7wq Especially in the morning when they have fresh triletche.

If you like to hike there is also a nice trail to do between the Millenium Cross and Matka Canyon (3h/4h), but you may need to take a gps file with you to be sure to be on the right path. (it's one example of file between others https://www.gpsies.com/map.do;jsessionid=F229854E0850CA8B990B4A4C80EADCCF.fe3?fileId=gnjlsbhjjfxunibl ) You can go directly to the Millenium Cross from the center by taxi (Global Taxi are the cheapest, it may cost you 180 denars (3€) from the center to the cable car) and then take the cable car to go to the top (100 denars (less than 2€) way and back or 50 denars (less than 1€) for one way). Over there and in the mountain, there are perfect spots for photography.

You should definitely check up Boemska street in Debar Maalo. There are many restaurants serving traditional Macedonian food. And the ambience is great, always vivid and dynamic. As for the places to visit, I recommend mountain Vodno (breathtaking view on the city from the top) and Canyon Matka (a pure nature that will leave you speechless especially during this period) :)

Maybe you can try paragliding over the city starting at the Millennium Cross. They pick you up from the place you are staing in, take you up, make all the photos and GoPro videos and bring you back. Very affordable price. Let me know if you are interested.
