July in Skopje and Macedonia for 10-14 days - hot hot hot

Hi all,

we'd like to visit Macedonia again, 2nd time! Now we've only time in July or one week in August. I personally dislike hot temperatures as I am no hotelroom/AC-guy ;-) And July will be the hottest month, right?

I guess tourists prices are then in high season
I've seen rental car prices going crazy (damn)
my last time was in October, this was soooo nice, sometimes cold and too dark in the evening - but still enough to come again :D

This time my party friend will be my follower, he's looking for clubs, party, festivals, events. Me: for para gliding, trekking, going to the national parks Mavrovo, Kavardaci&Strumica, Opstina. But not again to Orchid, Bitola. Maybe visiting a friends in Tetovo and Prilep.

I am totally open minded. Any thoughts, any ideas? Useful forum posts anywhere?

Thanks a lot and enjoy life, people, sunshine. This weekend the festival season starts in Germany and people getting crazy with 30degree sunshine since April XD

You have D-festival in July, in Dojran. For paragliding, my friend, I suggest you gliding from Krusevo and Galicica. The second one is a breathtaking experience. ;)

For trekking you can always go to Canyon Matka, or hike on one of the macedonian mountains e.g. Popova Sapka, near to Tetovo is a good choice if you planned to visit some friends over there. :)

Thanks Natasha. Still possible, in July to be outdoor active, isn't it everywhere hot as in Greece or Turkey so my head will be cooked? If so, I suggest, all Macedonian people hide away to Orchid lake or Montenegro sea, so cities will be quieter, cultural events less, museums closed? ;)

July there is "DrimOn" festival in Struga, multimedia 3 day festival (city next to Ohrid, but much more different) Also Radozda is amazing village next to Struga, and there is this MakeDox festival, very nice documentary festival under stars in rural enviroment... Both on Ohrid lake but total different experience then Ohrid. Then you can go hiking on Jablanica Mountain, Vevchani, Gorna Belica... its all same area...

Hallo Johannes,

Du kannst nach Galitschnik fahren. Es ist ein wunderschones Dorf wo jedes Jahr Galitschka svadba oder Galitschka Hochzeit am 12.07. findet statt. Auch, diesbezuglich Paragliding, empfehle ich dir von Galitschica zu fliegen. Ich hatte personlich vor 3 Jahren eine tolle Erfahrung. Ich kann dir eben mit dem Flieger verbinden, wenn du willst, weil ich mit ihm personlich kenne.
