Traveling around the Black Sea without a car.

Hello everyone, I would like to go to the North of Türkiye in July and I was wondering how easy it is to get around without a car. Is public transportation good? Can I get around the cities (Trabzon, Rize, etc) and between cities without issues? Are there buses or trains? I would like to see Sümela Monastery, Uzungöl and hike around the mountains. Is it easy to get there? Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

There is no train but lots of bus and minibus options. Inter cities you can check busses from https://www.obilet.com/ , lots of options everyday.

After arriving to Trabzon, ask for minibuses to Sumela Monastery and Uzungol. You can either book a tour or can go by yourself in the morning and return in the evening. In summer time more than many options everyday

Thanks man! This is great to hear. I'd like to have the freedom to come and go as I please, but I know tours have their benefits. In any case, it's good to know I have options. I'd still like to hike and I've read that best place is the Kaçkar mountains. So hopefully I can go there too. Everything is shaping up for the end of July/beginning of August, which I reckon would also be a good time, in terms of weather, so thanks for the reply. Cheers,
