Hola, I am interested in visiting Antarctica this coming spring. Does anyone have advice on the best way to do this?

I come from a land locked desert but I have traveled some and now I would like to cross the equator for the first time and see Antarctica. I am wondering about best months, cheapest way or any other good tips on how to go about this goal? Boat plane swimming:)? Tour boat or volunteer? I am interested in animals, birds and such things. the best way is by a small sailor ship, 8/10 people...that way you can visit more, excursion, feel it better...spiritsydney for exemple. I am leaving in 15 days
