It’s Ghana’s biggest street art + culture festival. The name "Chale Wote" means "friend, let’s go" in Ga.
*What it is:*
A 1-week festival in *James Town, Accra* where the whole streets turn into an open gallery. No tickets, no walls. Art is for everybody on the street.
*What happens there:*
1. *Street Murals & Graffiti* - Artists from Ghana + around the world paint huge walls live
2. *Performance Art* - Dance, theater, spoken word, live painting right on the streets
3. *Music* - Hiplife, afrobeats, jazz, alternative bands on different stages
4. *Fashion & Costumes* - People come in wild, creative outfits. Fashion shows on the streets
5. *Film, Photography, Poetry* - Screenings and exhibitions in old buildings and open spaces
6. *Food & Vendors* - Street food, crafts, books, accessories

Chaotic, colorful, free, and very Accra. It takes over the historic streets of James Town, Usher Town, and around from from james town to independence square Daytime = art and workshops. Nighttime = music and performances.
