**We host people wanting to stay in Kanazawa for 2-3 nights. *We don't accept requests sent more than 1 month ahead of time, a standard Maybe response will be returned. To receive a YES, it's best to ask us 2-3weeks ahead of time. ************************************************ I live with my partner Koshi and our cat Leo. We like all things nature based. In the Spring, Summer, and Fall we often go camping. In the winter we snowshoe. I grow flowers, food, and forage for various seasonal things. We like to explore Kanazawa and the surrounding areas. We go to restaurants more than we should! Occasionally we go to bars, but we prefer to drink at home. Koshi is well versed in nihon-shu ("sake"). While Koshi and Leo are on the quiet side, I am very outgoing. Both of us are good-humored and love to laugh.
I was born in Kanazawa and having been living here. My elementary school, highschool, university and working places - everything is in Kanazawa. There is only one moment when I was not in Kanazawa. It was New Zealand when I was 23 years old for a year. I got a working holiday visa and moved there. It was a good opportunity to know my home country from different perspective. Another turning point in my life is October 2010 when I found a website called 'couchsurfing'. Thanks to this website, I met great people from many countries. -------------------------------------------------- PHILOSOPHY -------------------------------------------------- I don't have any goals in life. It doesn't mean hopeless. I prefer enjoying everyday or every moment rather than worrying about the future, because nobody knows what will happen in the future. Plus, I try not to care the things happened in the past, because we can learn from it but we can not change it.

Hello, I’m Misato! I used to teach art at a junior high school, and now I teach art classes at a daycare center. I especially love drawing.✏️ಇ I’m also passionate about good food! If our schedules work out, I’d love to cook together. I’d be happy if you could show me your favorite local or comfort dish!😋

I'm a university student at the nearby University of Kanazawa.
My name is Mei. I am a Japanese graduate student currently in my final summer of university before starting my career. From 2024 to 2025, I spent an incredible year living in Nancy, France as an exchange student. It was my very first time living abroad, and it was a truly eye-opening experience. Meeting my host family, connecting with people from different backgrounds, and immersing myself in French culture left me with unforgettable memories. Now, to make the absolute most of my final summer as a student, I am embarking on a 1.5-month solo journey across Europe. I love visiting museums and trying delicious local food. Rather than rushing through standard tourist checklists, my favorite way to explore is by taking slow strolls, soaking in the atmosphere, and discovering hidden gems along the way. I’m using Couchsurfing because I want to connect with locals and experience daily life from a local perspective. I would also love to share Japanese culture and make meaningful, fun memories together with my hosts. Thanks for reading, and I hope to meet you soon!
Hi, I'm Kazuma from the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa, Japan. For 20 years, sumo was my whole life. I competed, and later I became a high school P.E. teacher and a sumo coach. But when I finally stepped away from sumo, I realized I had built my entire life around one thing — and suddenly I had nothing else. So I made a decision: I would start again. I began studying English from scratch. My first-ever trip abroad was to Malta, where I volunteered teaching sports to immigrant children. I could barely speak a word of English back then — but that experience lit a fire in me. I came home thinking, "I want to learn more. I want to connect with more people around the world." That's really what I live by: 🌍 More travelers, more peace. 🌶️ Travel troubles are the spice of life. 🤝 The people you meet on the road are the flavor of life. These days you'll find me snowboarding, playing outside in nature, traveling, and always, always studying English (and now Korean too!). As a host, I'd genuinely love to have you. Let's cook and eat together, wander the streets of my town, and get our bodies moving. I'm not the type to leave a guest sitting alone — I want us to share real experiences. I speak Japanese and English, and I'm currently learning Korean. Whether you're staying over or just passing through, come share your story with me. Let's make the world a little more peaceful, one meal and one conversation at a time.
Ainda sem bio, provavelmente explorando o mundo
If you are looking for a real local host in the city centre of Kanazawa why don't you ask me! I am from Kanazawa, a real local. I am not a great talker but I like to meet new people and share good times. I am a person of a curious nature. I am always happy, and I'm always smiling. I am very proud of being from the city rooted in history and tradition.. I run a small company and also give lecture at a University. I work every weekday from 8:00 to 18:00. And another thing, I am a dancer on weekend. I lived and worked more than five years abroad. I often go to US and Germany on business and Spain to take dance lesson from maestro now. It is my pleasure to host you! I lend you bike(up to 4) to go around the city. Usually I pick up guests at JR Kanazawa station. So you do not need to ask me my home address and mobile number. (;This is the message to check if you read my profile or not). ¡Espero conocerte pronto!
I'm a kiwi born and bred, currently living and working in Japan. Worked in Toyama City for 5 years and Kanazawa for a year, moved back to New Zealand for 2 years to do some study, and now I am back in Kanazawa!! I enjoy movies, video games, music, driving, and exploring. Always keen to hang out and get food and watch a movie!
This CS shows my name Go but please call me Tsuyoshi in Japanese it’s happier !! https://youtube.com/@ctaketakec?si=kE--F_d8x3MULzvo ↑This is one of my hobby not much followers but use for storage. It’s help to show me very quick! 這個是一種我的興趣去河邊拍魚子的樣子。 Hello,I start to study English again for talk with peoples from overseas. Welcome to Japanese surfers as well. My room is near Kanazawa station around 10 mins by our foot. Feel free to ask me anything. I need your patience no spacious room mine. Please understand it in advance!! Some ex guests helped to mention that it’s better weekends to create common share time to experience each other. In other word weekday not much time to share and enjoy our time. In the end, you might be better off staying with another host. I would not like to be host who wanna just save money for accommodation. I would like to exchange our culture each other. Please note the sleeping stuff is common tools for another guests so in order to keep clean you should take shower before sleeping. (I have a set of single size Futon for my guest ) Add in 2025.10.10 I'm honored to have received particularly positive reviews from recent guests about the experience we spent together. I enjoy going to tourist spots and sharing my experiences in nature during my free time on the weekends. I don't think guests who leave their luggage and go sightseeing or surf the internet in my room without me are suitable guests. Please find another host. I recommend you finished your normal sighting around Kanazawa city by yourself first then let’s we go out together. Also, some guests have requested that I be driven to and from the train station, but I will decline this request, so please understand in advance. Let's make good memories together.
