Hi, I’m Merv, an artist based in the historic city of York. I love exploring Yorkshire and would be happy to show you around whenever I’m free. I’d describe myself as both easygoing and charismatic, and I’m always up for a good chat if our paths happen to cross I may be able to host but unlikely in the weekend so please don’t send me a message requesting this.
CURRENT MISSION Studying to be an Occupational Therapist. Learning how to be a husband. ABOUT ME I'm always after new experiences and find meeting new people really rewarding. I have a passion for the outdoors and the environment. I'm generally at my happiest in the mountains - hiking, cycling or canoeing with friends. PHILOSOPHY Keep an open mind, there are always two sides to an arguement. New experiences tend to be more rewarding than do the same thing - so I'm not particularly good at one thing!
I am an open minded person wanting to meet, socialise, and share experiences with like-minded folks. I genuinely enjoy hosting and helping people where possible. I am on couch surfing and most of my reviews will include my partner Jo, we are in a 7 year very happy honest relationship. We do our best to host people but we do have busy lives so there are times sadly we will have to say no. I love to travel but right now I am spending some time back in the UK for a bit of time before hopefully going abroad again. I had my eyes opened by close friends who had been couch surfing and hosting. Since then I've met some lovely people and I've got the bug. If you're asking me to host please try to avoid generic requests and relate to my profile in some way. If you have no references I understand you have to start somewhere so ask your friends if they would write you a reference, it's a start you can build on. If I am hosting you do not mention payments. I love that CS is about the enjoyment of helping others and learning from one another. I am pro 🇵🇸 so please do not force any unwanted ideology and reasoning on me. I will respect people's beliefs but I will not meet you if you believe what is going on is fair and just.

After living in Newcastle I moved to York and now run my business from here. I live in a traditional victorian cottage over-looking the river Ouse, it is a 10 minute walk by the river into the city centre. I have many friends here that I enjoy socialising, eating and drinking with in the city.
Curious, liberal person wanting to explore and see more of the world.
***Vaccinated*** Looking to explore and meet people on a budget. Friendly, clean and love to immerse myself in different cultures. Travelling with my girlfriend who is new to couchsurfing - trying to win her over to the idea!
I'm a free spirit and always adding to my list of interests but to narrow it down, I love nature, hiking, wild camping, travelling, rugby and love trying to learn new languages, although not very well! I spend a lot of time out in nature and can usually be found somewhere up a mountain or by a lake in the Yorkshire Dales, North Wales, Lake District and Scotland. Forever trying to get out as much as possible. Being a live-in carer I get the freedom to explore and live a semi-nomadic life, usually hopping on a train or flight and deciding my next adventure enroute. Unfortunately, I've not explored much outside of Europe other than the Philippines, but would love to hear peoples stories and recommendations on future travels!
Hi, I’m Sedat! I’m a full time PhD student and part-time traveler who loves exploring new places and meeting new people. Traveling is my passion whether it's hiking, backpacking, or just discovering new cities and cultures. I enjoy being outdoors, listen to live music, and trying local foods wherever I go. Couchsurfing is my way to meet like-minded explorers, share stories, and discover new cultures. If you're into outdoor adventures, live music, or just want to grab a drink and chat about life, hit me up!
My name is Tania. I am 26 yo girl and a young professional. I am currently working and residing in England, but in my free from work time I prefer to travel. The longer I live, the more I realise there is so much more to see, experience, and yet understand. CS exposes me to new places, people, experiences, memorable conversations, and different versions of myself. I am grateful and I like it here. I would describe myself as kindhearted, brave, curious, adventurous, respectful. Once I met someone who described me as “an old man’s mind in a young girl’s body”. Oh well! Can’t argue with that… I play piano and started learning how to play ukulele. Music and movement make me happier. I love singing. I prefer to lead active lifestyle. I am learning how to be more present. Travelling for me shapes a part of self- and life education. I am out and about in the UK at this moment. Thank you for reading this description. I am looking forward to meeting new people and offering what I can bring to the table, same learn from you too! Recent experiences that were new to me but I learned from them: *I hiked for a UK charity that supports veterans and started a new IG page. It is now a space where I post my photography works: @myteatrips *I tried myself in blogging and videography. Still scary 🥹 but we don’t quit 💪🏼 *I bought myself a drone and learned how to fly. Now taking amazing videos from gorgeous lands pheew! *I did my first (and longest in Europe) high wire bridge (at Honister Mine, Lake District). It was not scary at all! *I lost a very close friend recently❤️🩹 He was killed in battle defending our country (yes, war is still going in Ukraine 🇺🇦 and it’s bad). So I am coping with existential crisis, and feel it is impotant to acknowledge the struggle and share.
I'm a friendly lady who loves to meet different people. I love learning about different cultures especially trying new foods. I love to speak and learn new languages and exchange stories of my country, where I have travelled and learn about other cultures. I love to show people the beautiful city of York which is full of history. The surrounding area, Yorkshire Dales, Yorkshire Moors and the coast are other areas it's possible to explore. Due to disability, which leaves me fatigued, I have to take breaks when out and about, usually coffee and lunch breaks but it doesn't stop me going out with visitors. I love music and cinema too.
PhD student from Kuwait living in York. I am not accepting guests but happy to meet and greet !!
