I can only host weekends, that is, Friday afternoon to Monday morning. volunteer on the weekends, so hosting may be tricky. Try to give me a week's notice if you're making a request to stay with me. Otherwise, I'd be happy to show Edmonton to you! CURRENT MISSION Conquering the world, one couch at a time... ABOUT ME See interests and Philosophy. CouchSurfing has opened lots of doors for me! Travel and adventure await, like roadtrips, especially if there's a place to crash at the end. (Hmmn, that didn't come out the way I meant.) PHILOSOPHY Life shouldn't be a competition. Push yourself, but be tolerant of others.
CURRENT MISSION To become globally identified friend ABOUT ME Very jovial and extrovert. Always ready to help. PHILOSOPHY Live and let others live.
CURRENT MISSION Live and Learn! ABOUT ME Arts lover, traveller, trying to get a grip on technology yet still tech savvy...it changes so fast! I spend as much time at home as I do “on the road”, so I am frequently traveling for work or play. When I am home, my door is open for Surfers. I work in The Arts as a freelance Stage Manager. I check to see if your’re verified. I only host verified surfers. 2026 UPDATE: I’m looking forward to a fun summer in Edmonton and should be available to host most of the time. I’ll be billeting an artist for the Edmonton International Fringe Festival but will have room for one more if you’re interested in hanging with Fringers. Happy surfing! I collect stickers, they’re easy to carry. Clever is good-profanities, not so much. PHILOSOPHY To each their own journey. Find a place you like, and go there! If you're happy, success will come. I am my own avatar. This is not a simulation. I am living my one and only life. Actually follow your dreams or they are merely fantasies. To lead a rich life, one does not require millions. To lead a rich life one requires character, resilience and adaptability.

I’m someone who enjoys meaningful conversations, exploring new perspectives, and making everyday experiences a bit more interesting. I like meeting people from different backgrounds and hearing their stories—it’s one of the best ways to understand the world beyond your own routine. Professionally, I work at a consultancy company as a data scientist / decision scientist. I’m also currently doing my PhD, focusing on the interplay between sampling and optimization for decision-making under uncertainty. I enjoy thinking about complex problems, but I try not to take life too seriously outside of work. I’ve been living in Canada on and off over the past few years, and I’m always curious to experience new places, cultures, and ways of life. I love painting and art, especially working with oils and pastels, and I’m also really into music. Creative expression is a big part of how I relax and connect with people. I’m generally easygoing and respectful of other people’s space, but I’m always up for a good chat, a walk around the city, or trying something new—whether that’s food, music, or a random local activity. I appreciate simple things like a good view, a relaxed vibe, and genuine connections over anything overly fancy. My long-term goal is to keep traveling, meeting really fun and interesting people, and collecting experiences that make life richer. As a guest, I’m clean, considerate, and grateful for the opportunity to stay. As a host, I’m happy to offer a clean and safe place, and I enjoy hosting people who are interested in spending some time together and hanging out rather than just passing through. My home is a welcoming, LGBTQ+-oriented space where inclusivity and respect are central. Looking forward to meeting open-minded people and sharing experiences along the way.
I'm an easy-going person who enjoys spending time outdoors and connecting with nature. I appreciate good conversations that go beyond small talk and love learning from others' experiences and perspectives. I live with a minimalist mindset, focusing on what truly matters and keeping life simple. Always open to new adventures and meeting interesting people along the way!
Curious, open-minded and open-hearted Canadian now living in Paris with my wife. Born in Edmonton, but lived abroad for most of my adulthood in France, Egypt, China, the Southern US and a bunch of other exotic places. Looking forward to meeting you along the way! --- PHILOSOPHY Share whenever you have more than you need. Spread love, positive vibes. Leave the world a bit better than you found it. Enjoy the ride :-) "A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving." -Laozi
*Currently in the Philippines 🇵🇭 Hey there I'm John, an aspiring writer and photographer who loves to travel the world and open his horizons. As of the moment I'm a full time student taking up ng degree in Construction Managament, and a full time sales associate for a phone company. I haven't been to many places yet, but since I came here to Canada in the year 2017, I found my passion to learning different cultures, languags and the beauty of different ethnicity. I also love to take pictures and seeing interesting places where I can integrate myself to the local community. I also love hiking and camping, the sense of achievement in reaching mountain's summits for me are the best feeling, especially when you I do it with people with great stories to tell along the trail. My goal is to travel the world and meet amazing people, make friends that would last a lifetime. You can check out my blog and instagram if it helps you know me better! https://www.instagram.com/sidequestnomad Thanks!
I am a conservation scientist with a PhD in Global Change Ecology. Following 10+ years in the Asia-Pacific region, I moved to Canada as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in 2018. My research focuses on the human footprint on the natural world. I am currently developing an initiative called Wings of Survival: www.wingsofsurvival.com, an epic expedition series across the world's major migratory bird flyways, blending extreme sports, nature conservation and impact storytelling.

Hairstylist, I love talking to people and learning about their lives and what gives them joy, finding shared experiences and things that we both enjoy. I love animals and have a little beagle that’s 10year old. I enjoy cooking as it brings people together and teaches us about other cultures. Travel of course, I recently got out of a long relationship and now the world is my oyster and I can’t wait for the next experience.
