Hey everyone! :) My name is Semi, I’m from Austria, and I’m still at the beginning of my world trip! I have a Master’s degree in Electrical Energy and Mobility Systems, focusing on things like electric vehicles and alternative energy concepts. I worked for a few years at Infineon Technologies as a Verification Engineer in the automotive semiconductor sector. So trust me… I am an engineer :D And then I quit. 😂 I’m still working a little bit at a university as a supervisor, and apart from that I somehow also ended up in the world of trading… (which is not profitable until NOW. NOT. AT. ALL. :D) This is my first time travelling solo and I absolutely LOVE it. I’ve already met so many amazing people along the way. Sometimes, though, it can be surprisingly difficult to find a genuine connection with people, which is why I started using Couchsurfing — and honestly, it was one of the best decisions I’ve made during my travels. My plan is to discover the world, meet interesting people, learn from different cultures and experiences, and keep educating myself in every possible way. I’m also a crypto enthusiast and I’m involved with a project called Renegade, which is basically… let’s call it a crypto bank. :D Besides that, I’m pretty addicted to the gym and have quite a lot of experience when it comes to training and nutrition. So if you need someone to discuss workouts, food or why your training plan probably needs some changes… I’m your guy. :D In August 2023, I also started a YouTube channel, if you want to have a look: "YouTube – Semilarious" (https://reference-url-citation.invalid/0) I’m definitely not claiming to be a professional video maker. :D Most of the videos are basically my personal travel diary — a way for me to keep the stories, memories and stupid things I’ve done along the way. And hey, YouTube is free online storage, so why not? :D And maybe I’m a slightly weird Austrian, but I have never drunk alcohol or taken any kind of recreational drugs in my life. :D Normally, beer is basically running through Austrian veins, so I guess I’m a bit of an exception. But that doesn’t mean I’m boring — let’s go party and I’ll show you that you don’t need alcohol as fuel! :D One small thing about Couchsurfing I’m straight and I’m interested in women, but I’m not using Couchsurfing as a dating platform. For me, hosting or staying with someone is about meeting people, sharing experiences, learning about each other’s cultures and having a good time as travellers. I absolutelly love meeting new people sharing new ideas, experiences, thoughts.. Im especially curious about other peoples points of view. Ive traveled a bit and have some funny stories to share. Some of my travels were spontaneous (i decided to go the evening before) so you can imagine how riddiculous- yet amazing they turned out. Im not complicated and dont need much. When i travel im usually on lowest budget i can get and need only a roof above my head (doesnt matter if under me are rocks). ABOUT ME Hello Rainbow People! Where to start..? Struggling hard not to be too crazy :P Because I'm bored with always writing the usual stuff in my profile I will try to write the non-usual stuff! When I'm angry or stressed I just go to the woods and scream at loud. You should try it, it really helps. Eat banana on my pancakes. Like to wash the dishes. Count steps and letters in words, subtitles and then add them up, haha kind of annoying really. Usually wearing socks in different colors. Reading the newspaper backwards. I enjoy walking in the cemetery. Trying to break my habits in everyday life. Otherwise was a hip hop dancer but I´m interested in all kind of sports- hiking, softball, climbing, bicycling, running, swimming.. I recently decided to start playing a violin with no previous knowledge of music because I am mesmerised by the sound of the violin which feels like combing my brain! My everyday mission is to be happy and help everyone. I´m also a really honest person and sometimes shy as well- would like to change that. Maybe one of my bad characteristics is that I get too much excited about things I see for the first time.. I have an older sister and a cat, which I adore. At the moment I'm studying Biodiversity and nature conservation. Otherwise, an easy going person, trying to be calm about everything, so please no nervous people around me. :P Sometimes lost in my own dream land, but all the time trying to meet my own criteria not other's. I'm a vegan and am also concerned for the environment.
