Hello! My name is Jules. I love to travel and by hosting I am able to continue the journey. I organize language learning events wherever I live. I am very active with CS and excited to meet other travelers. Currently living in Cambodia, I speak the Khmer language well and love the country.
CURRENT MISSION Find the perfect milkshake, pet every dog and cat. My profile is much longer than the preview would suggest. I love animals. I'd love to get a bunch of land and open an animal sanctuary some day. I have a straight-laced sense of humor that makes people mistake my sarcasm for a serious belief. I don't drink or smoke, but don't mind if you do.
CURRENT MISSION To cultivate, encourage, and promote curiosity through travel. I offer curiosity-led group trips that focus on exploration and less-touristy activities and culture. ABOUT ME I am a truly genuine and curious person who loves to meet people and learn about other cultures, ideas, countries and what makes people who they are. Travel is deep in my soul and necessary for my survival. I especially like places most people are less familiar with or don't know because they often hold the greatest unexpected treasures. I have my serious, emotional side and I have my goofy, irresponsible side. As a result I can be moody but I try to enjoy life overall. I'm quirky and proud of it. Humor is my defense mechanism. I love discovering new music, dining and drinking around the world, reading books, watching artsy movies, having great conversations, and collecting lots of weird stuff. I can be as comfortable staying inside all day as I can be walking for miles around a new city or riding a rickety bus in some foreign country. I am a chameleon and a Sagittarius, so I'm restless all the time. I'm also a multipotentialite. One of my heroes is Rosa Parks. PHILOSOPHY Everything happens for a reason and we're all here for some purpose...life is figuring it out. People are people and all should be treated as equals put on this earth. Live with many dreams; one of them is bound to come true. Love often, hate never.
CURRENT MISSION Live, learn, and teach. ABOUT ME My parents decided to raise a kid with the travel bug, and took me on a lot of trips. It started on my dad's side of the family with a love of the outdoors and backpacking. I've spent around 400 miles on trails so far, including trips all across the US and one in Canada. I've spent about two months on personal trips to Europe, another two months in the Caribbean, and a few weeks in the Middle East. I moved to DC after college to work in documentary television. My work has given me the chance to learn about many different subjects, and travel all across the USA and abroad on different projects. While I've been at it, I've had a great time exploring the East Coast, and living in the very young and international city that Washington DC is (it's not all like House of Cards). In my free time I enjoy cooking tasty meals, seeing live music, and occasionally rock climbing. PHILOSOPHY Life's a complicated thing, luckily I have the rest of mine to figure it out.

Out of town in new york, egypt, palestine, israel, portugal, italy, utah & colorado until November. I'm a 28 year old trying to see as much of the world as I can. I love traveling, experiencing new cultures, meeting new people and eating new foods. In a long term monogamous relationship, so not looking for love, but if you are, hope you find it. My insta is Liam_lemons
I enjoy meeting open-minded people who expose me to new ideas and experiences. I also enjoy getting outdoors for a run or bike ride, or going to museums and events around my home city of Washington, DC, so I'd be interested in hanging out if I have free time during your visit. NOTE: Please make sure your profile has been verified before requesting to stay with me. I give preference to people with verified profiles and positive reviews from other hosts/travelers. It's also generally easier for me to host on weekends but during the week it's also okay! Let me know if you're stuck and we'll work it out. Thank you!
CURRENT MISSION to build a world wide network of contacts! If you don’t have references or are not verified please don’t request to stay with me. I’ve noticed these people tend to cancel more and aren’t reliable guests. ABOUT ME My biggest fault is being shy when I first meet someone. Guests who stay with me think I'll be chatty and excited to meet them. The later may be true but not the first. Please remember that. If you send a request, please mention that you've read and are aware of that. I like to go out and have fun, but it usually takes a bit at first to get me in the mood. Perhaps I'm just a late night person. I'm not usually one to break the ice either. I'm also a dual citizen between Luxembourg and the United States. PHILOSOPHY "It's easier to hear when people don't shout so loud."
I grew up near Vladivostok, Russia, but have moved to Washington, DC 20+ years ago. Married to a great guy for 10+ years. We both love meeting new people and talking about life, travel, cultures, and issues of the day. I enjoy good food, traveling, biking, and hiking. Brett enjoys tennis and running. My spouse is also on CS: https://www.couchsurfing.com/c/users/brett-mcbride-1 We own a multi-level house with a private guest room and a finished basement. We are close to the metro and plenty of shopping, and the White House is only about 4 km away.
*Update* Just moved back to Kuwait! Will update my profile in due course. CURRENT MISSION To travel as much as possible in the Americas while I’m based in DC! ABOUT ME I’m a traveller at heart and so far been to more than 90 countries and ended up in a career that takes me far away from my home, Kuwait. I started couchsurfing back when I was a 19 year old student in the UK and somehow kept on hosting on and off since then. PHILOSOPHY Smile :) I'm not much of a philosopher really!
Not sure how to pause hosting with the recent changes to Couchsurfing but I'm making some career changes right now, not the best time to host - sorry! My background is in Water Planning and Policy, Civil Engineering and Hydrogeology, and Water Journalism. In 2012, I founded an online water media and education nonprofit (WaterCitizen), which includes a Media outlet. We also offer online courses, communities and virtual transformational mastermind programs for Women Water Professionals and Water Entrepreneurs. I work from home or wherever I can get work done on my laptop or phone. If I am traveling to your city, chances are it is to provide media coverage for some sort of water-related conference, although I do try to schedule in time to visit with my hosts when I can and if they are available!
I’m an IT consultant by profession, father of 2 - twins, live in Baltimore, MD, and love to travel. I couchsurf because the best part of traveling isn't just the sights — it's the two-hour conversation with someone who actually lives there. I'm respectful, low-maintenance, up for cooking together or just listening to your stories about the city, and I always leave a place better than I found it. Always happy to return the favor if you're ever passing through the DC area.
CURRENT MISSION ultra lightweight travel ABOUT ME At home in the urban jungle and the jungle. Though I really prefer the mountains. PHILOSOPHY Sleep is for the weak.
