Hey! I'm a PhD student. To balance out my bookishness, I enjoy being outside and go hiking and swimming as often as I can. I'm also part of a publishing project in Reykjavík called Ós Pressan. I love campfires, my Fantasy and Sci-Fi book club, coffee and sharing stories with people from all over the world.

Por que estou no Couchsurfing
I created this profile back in 2012 when I was living in Vienna for an internship. Honestly, I simply needed a place to stay. I ended up staying at a friend's place who I had actuay met outside of the internet BUT this is how I was introduced to couchsurfing. When I visited Iceland for the first time in 2013, I decided to stop in Copenhagen, Denmark, and couchsurf. I have been couchsurfing in Germany as well. When I moved back to Iceland in 2014, I made my first friends here through couchsurfing. To me, couchsurfing is both about mobility and connecting with other people.

I like to share languages, art, books, and creative writing. I have been organizing creative writing workshops here in Akureyri, making exhibitions etc. I am a PhD student in the social sciences with a background in art studies so if you need any help writing or researching stuff during your travels (not sure that happens very often haha) I can help you with that. My partner Jenny is from Sweden and does massages, healing, meditations, and drumming. She likes to be in the nature with her horse Myrra. If you have skills in natural horsemanship, freedom-based-training of horses or something similar we would LOVE to meet you and share skills and/ or pay for a workshop or training. It is very difficult to find people who are interested in these things in Iceland.

(this is something I wrote in 2012 when I opened this profile. Decided to leave it as it was, cause memories. Did you know that Tolkien urged the German translator of The Lord of the Rings not to use the word Elf, that is the literal translation of elf, because he didn't want his Elben, this is the old Germanic word he suggested, to be associated with A Midsummer Night's Dream? :D
