BASIC FACTS: I'm a college student studying political science and psychology. 21 years old. Love exploring, making new friends, and EATING. When exploring new places and wanting to take things slow I prefer traveling alone, though I do not mind traveling in groups. I'm not a fan of all of the touristy stuff/places. I travel because I want to know and understand the city's culture and it's heart. I have always enjoyed traveling. My first chance to travel solo was summer of 2014 (prior to 2014 I used to only travel with family). It was a month trip to Vietnam and it was simply wonderful. I traveled from the deep south to central Vietnam. Since then I've been counting down the days for my next trip. I travel as much as I can during the school year--taking small road trip with friends to explore Maine, New years in NYC, and spring break trips in Boston and Washington DC. As much as I love attending my classes and learning, I need a break from college before my senior year. I want to learn more about myself and the world around me. To make new friends. To assimilate and understand other cultures and traditions. To make mistakes and not feel guilty/regret after. That is exactly what I will be doing for the next 15 months. I'm currently traveling in Vietnam, and will be in several other places in North America after. Following, I will be studying abroad for a year in Amsterdam (I'm super excited!). There I hope to take advantage of Amsterdam's central location to explore Europe. A LITTLE ABOUT MY PERSONALITY: I am a high energy bubble-making machine (not literally). My friends nicknamed me Bubbles, but I resemble Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls. I LOVE (AND I MEAN IT!) hearing story...ANY STORY, and telling story. Be warn, though, I am not a very good storyteller. I love hugs and love receiving hugs. I prefer low-key hangouts while having a few drinks over attending many parties in one night. Do get me wrong! I do like parties. I think parties are great for making crazy wild but lasting memories. But, for me, sometimes a nice night in with old or new friends is much more meaningful. I enjoy being around those who are down to earth, and easy going. Those who are always up for trying new things and are not afraid of getting lost. ~~~Update~~~~ Beginning of February I decided to do a year-long exchange program and chose The Netherlands as my home base during this time. Later, in May 2016, I decided to extend my time abroad from 9 months to 13 months,. My goal for the next 13 months is to explore the beautiful planet earth, to learn more about myself, and hopefully discover my passion. PHILOSOPHY: live and learn

I WANT TO MEET PEOPLE! It's easy to book a room at a hotel or through airbnb, but that's boring. Although I am not extremely extroverted (as I can be quite shy sometimes), I LOVE and WANT to meet new people and learn about their them, their cultures and cities.

3 days ago I caught and ate seafood on a raft in the middle of the ocean. Afterward I went coral reef snorkeling! (Quy Nhon, Vietnam) The next day my brother and I went waterfall hunting. Along the way we befriended a local, who guided us up the mountain. It wasn't the biggest, strongest, or the greatest waterfall, but it sure was one of the most beautiful, refreshing waterfall I have ever sat under. My brother and I sat under the waterfall, leaning against the rugged rock wall, while sipping the coconuts we ordered from a local stand at the bottom of the mountain. It was a great brother & sister bonding experience.
