HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING At the moment, I'm an avid surfer looking for hosts and new friends, but I am hoping to pay it forward when I finally return back to Seattle. As my first host told me, it may be unlikely to cross paths again with my previous hosts, so the best way to express the gratitude I have for my hosts is by hosting and sharing my experiences with others! COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Just amazing. I am forever grateful for each and every one of my hosts, especially my first host Van. She accepted (actually, she checked me out of the hotel I was in and moved me to her house) a complete stranger and newbie to CS into her home and family. My hosts are now all friends who have made an impact in my life! Anyone can travel and see the major landmarks of a country/city, but when one gets the privilege of meeting and talking to a local, that's when the traveling becomes special and genuine.
