I love to travel, exploring diversity and cultures. If it wasn't for diversity life makes no sense, so why not getting away sometimes and open your world to a wider one. Following the footsteps of the ancients, and mitigate it with the modern. Reading books and studying cultures is a good motive to experience the life as presented on paper and the real one on site. It would complete a story.
