I have travelled extensively and I'm always happy to share my apartment and meet people from different walks of life when I am available. I can show you around if time allows. Washington DC is diverse, has a good transit system, lots of food options, entertainment and sports, a good sense of community, free things - museums are free to visit. Parks and trails all over, Increasing options for biking. Full of young people with lots of energy and drive.
