HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I have done couchsurfing a lot while I was a student, both as a host and a traveler. Now, I am doing it less, cause I live in a really small flat, but I wish to relaunch it. I kind of see it as a resistance against the temptation to commercialize all our social encounters. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Hosting in Paris and Istanbul. Being hosted in different cities in Turkey and Iran.

The best stories usually pop-up in my head sitting at a table during a good lunch, so hopefully it will happen when we meet :) But I can say spending one totaly not planed month in Iran through couchsurfing, taking a random train in Turkey and waking up in an unknown city, doing a 4 days treck in Colombia, Interrailing alone and with friends, walking from Jenine in Palestine to 'Afoula in Israel, and doing my Ph.D. which feels like an investigation case.
