London Music Festival : Voting Link : Red Coat & Red Lipistic
London Music Festival
Greetings,
As previously expressed and shared my thoughts with you all. I want to say how grateful I am for the correspondence with the Organizers of the London Music Festival. During My Solo Travel to Europe and Budapest, Hungary, I had the chance to meet with some wonderful people and together, we transformed 6 of my poems in actual songs, which I could get a hold of 2 but – of course – not all them as they were recorded with the audience devices.
It has been a while since I received Email from the Organizers of the London Music Festival with the links where I need to request votes from the audience and it’s pretty much easy. Please request a link for voting here:

The video you’ll see is a one time shot clip without cuts and tells the story of a poet travelling abroad his land, meeting new people on his path and simply asking them to create a performance out of one of his poem. It all happens spontaneously, people gathering around, partecipating, clapping and cheering out of joy. It is an extreme example of what is known in ancient Greek as play followed by the principles of unity in action, time and place.
The mastermind behind this music video is Jairam Chawhan (describing himself as “Goa – India – Bahrain – Poet – writer – traveller”). He wrote the lyrics and directed the video.
WHO’S HIM? HERE IS A CLOSER GLANCE INTO HIS THOUGHTS AND PATH:
“I’m a 37 year old Indian citizen, born in the Indian state of Goa on July 28 1982. I have completed my Diploma in Civil Engineering in January 2009, and started working in the middle east in that field, I was working in Sultanate of Oman till March 2016 and later moved to Kingdom of Bahrain, Presently working as Quality assurance and control engineer on a mega construction project. I begun my journey writing poems as teenager and I used to mainly write in Marathi, Hindi and Konkani ( Regional languages of India ). My First poetry book was “Smaran Tujem” : A collection of poems in Konkani published March 2014 with ISBN – 978-81-920961-3-1 through Shalmali Creations Goa- India.
A year ago I started to write again but this time in English, even If I would rather say,it’s just the first step of many to come. A beginning. In the meantime I begun my global travels and put efforts to meet wonderful people during my journey who inspired me to create something new. In brief my aim is to:
§ Explore the world, meeting many people (as many as I can)
§ Explore the beauty, the world culture and exchange knowledge, information and cultural values and to spread love.
§ Connect with people from different countries with amazing “travel stories’ life experiences, visions and goals, their contributions to the society, values, & beliefs.
§ Finding ways to feel peace and love on this lovely planet. I believe in the old saying that goes “it doesn't matter if you don’t have a single dollar in your pocket, who finds a friend, finds a treasure.”
World is full of awesome people and may be our ignorance, ego, packaged actions and ideas, labels, the educational system, the medias and the superficial intelligence that keeps us from identifying and connect with others. The world is one and we have one race and I believe we all should work together to bring peace, harmony and happiness to every species in this universe it’s our sole responsibility and duty to provide the best to the up and coming generations.
No doubt, that we all are going to die but what we do today will influence our future generations.
Thank you to all the wonderful souls I have met during my “solo travels” starting from Qatar, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Czechia, Hungary, Jordan and Armenia.”
FURTHERMORE, JAIRAM ADDS:
"It was an random encounter up at 2.00am, deep night, as I was returning from a pub and these three wonderful angels offered me to have some snacks with them and I was impressed with their skill and requested if they can create something on the poems which I have, The female artist Alice Stehlickova instantly accepted and we started, all our phones were dead, luckily we were able to record 2 of those videos on my Iphone and for the rest 4, they we captured on bystanders and passer-by and we never really got them back.
WHERE IS THIS MUSIC VIDEO’S PLACE IN THE HISTORY OF COMPARABLE WORKS?
Fatboy Slim’s video for “Praise You” instantly comes to mind. However, his off-the-cuff performance was planned. But Jairam’s “Red Coat & Red Lipstick” was not staged at all. Not only the song is improvised, but also the composition of the ensemble. This is a significant new step in the history of mankind.
NOW, WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS MUSIC VIDEO?
Don’t be afraid to talk to strangers. If you talk to strangers, great things can happen.
OUR VERDICT: this music video adds a meaningful story about coming together to the lyrics. It also takes a new step in the history of unplanned music videos. And it teaches a lesson on how we can treat one another. Jairam’s music video “Red Coat & Red Lipstick” is a masterpiece.
-- With Warm Regards J. L. Chawan
