What's the couchsurfing activity like around here?

I lived my first 30 years in New Jersey, and when I got into couchsurfing, I did manage to host two people, but it was few and far between, and nothing like my experience in NYC.

Now I live in Binghamton! Hi everyone! :) How frequently do couchsurfers come by in these parts?

I managed to host a few Germans for a night on their road trip across the US in June. Maybe one request every 3-4 months is average for me.

I've hosted 3 couples so far, and had a few requests that ended up cancelling. Overall a great experience so far... mostly folks heading to Toronto. The most memorable was a couple from Finland. Binghamton was their first real experience with American culture... Took them out to Galaxy for food, craft beer and live music, and showed them around town a little. :) I did host one German woman!

I think since the style of site has changed i have more requests . i found lots of my amazing friends in Binghamton in ways somehow related to site (like an awesome mutual friend) But i wish we could make a cs gathering or activity! It would be fun!

Hey :) I'm absolutely up for a cs potluck! But before settling that I have an announcement :) March 20th is the persian new year (First day of spring) and the moment of new year is a little passed 6:30. I'll have a potluck in my place starting at 5 and you guys are more than welcome to join! @Dalia maybe i finally try your cooking skills ;) @Dan I already emailed you but i'm not sure it's the right address or not!
