NEW YEAR AT FORT BRAGG

I'm a single mama looking into visiting Forth Bragg, especially for it's Glass Beach. I have two girls, age 6 and 8 with me at all times, and I would love to stay at a homey household for the New Year. I want it to make a great experience for my girls with a lot of home made cooking going on, and visiting local coffee shops and (of course) the Glass Beach.

Hello Ewa,

I just read your post.

I have yet to decide where I will be or what I will have planned over the New Year's holiday but I may be open to you and your children staying here for a few days.

I travel a fair amount these days and do so at sometimes short notice so I will not at this point guarantee a place but would like to open up the discussion. (Truth be told, I seldom go away for New Year)

Glass Beach is lovely but it is also not what it used to be. Since the articles in the New York Times and other travel publications it has been picked over a lot! Even though there are signs telling people Not to pick the glass! Still, it is rather unique but one never knows about the timing, especially in winter when big storms can make going there impossible.

Even without Glass Beach the Mendocino coast is very beautiful and there are many place stop explore with the girls. (I have one myself and she is going to 'present me' with a grandchild in March)

So, let us 'talk' and see if visit here might work for you.

Hi Ewa,
I am sorry to say I need to cancel any NYE plans at my house for you and your children.

My daughter, expecting in March, has just moved in! This is supposed to be for a two month period and, as much as I love her, I hope this is true. (I believe she will do better in her own place with her partner)

Sorry. I will ask around for other possibilities.
