Best Neighbourhood

Salut! My friend and me are going to Marseille for a weekend trip to hike at the parc national du calanques and want to rent an airbnb. Now we are wondering which area would be the best to look for a place? Because we want to be able to go to the parc, but also go for drinks at night. Any suggestions dear locals? :) merci en avance, jasmin

In my opinion, best place to move is Place Castellane, you have subway for all the city ans bus station to go to les Calanques. You can also have a look around Le Vieux Port, Cours Julien, there is night life. You can also have a look at Estrangin, you can go to le Vieux Port by foot and you have subway. Anyway, you should look something near subway.

Hello. If you want to go the Calanques you can also stay in other places close to the main transport network (bus or underground). The centre of Marseille is not very large. But maybe the best place in Marseille to go to have a drink is the Cours Julien : the population is very diverse and popular and the way of thinking is very different and open minded, very different from people from Castellane or coming from south quarter. Have a nice stay.
