Maybe try the hostels on Lemon Rd. There's Polynesian Hostel and Waikiki Beachside Hostel, both are really good.

Seaside hostel was great when I first came to island. Maybe check that. Marathoners don't want hostels they need more comfort after such a long run so maybe there. Also try the airbnb app there's tons all over island. We actually rent a room on there but it isn't available until January at the moment either & we are in Europe at the moment so can't offer a couchsurfing option for you either. Sorry. Good luck!
