Hi! I'm going to Portland from the 23 to the 27 of December, any advice of places to visit there or around Portland? :)

Feel free to reach out if you need a place to hang out. I can't host you, but I will be quite free to roam and my home will be available during the days.
I will give you the list that I give to my CS guests... this should give you a lot to do (including local things to do that you are unlikely to come across on your own) without having to do much research...... here it comes.....
West side things to do: -Hike in forest park, go to lower macleay park and walk into the forest trail from there . You can turn around when you get to the "witches castle" (1 hour round trip easy hike) or go even deeper if you want!
-International rose test garden (can explore the rest of Washington park from here if you want too but kinda hard without a car). The rose garden is free.
-Powell's City of Books, a famous huge bookstore.
-The world's smallest park is funny (Mills ends park), then walk along the waterfront park right there too. It's stupid, but whatever
-Pioneer courthouse square
-Can walk on Northwest 23rd St for salt n' straw ice cream.
-Voodoo Doughnuts, stupid tourist donut shop that has too much sugar but go ahead and take a photo anyway. Fun to visit one time. It's stupid, but whatever
East side things to do: -Hawthorne st cute shops and restaurants and Portland thrifty fashion hipster st. Navigate to "the Bagdad theater & pub" and walk around from there
-Tov coffee--Egyptian coffee served on a bus!
-Cartopia food cart pods good food carts for weekend night times. Hawthorne Asylum food carts are also right by it.
-Mt tabor park. Good for mini hikes, good views of the city for sunset.
-Laurelhurst park- flat and easy and pleasant. Pretty. Easy to walk to from Hawthorne. Relax there.
-For late night Dessert and local fun experience: Rimsky-Korsakoffee House. You can get decaf drinks. Order the orange cappuccino and ginger cake
-Porque no, Taco place has high quality interesting tacos, a little more expensive than other tacos though.
-Whole Bowl, is a good place if you need a filling healthy vegetarian meal for cheap. Rice bowls.
Northeast direction of the city:
Pip's donuts--cute local high quality donut and Chai tea experience.
Alberta st, is "the art district" and some of the buildings have art painted on them. Has many shops and restaurants.
Mississippi st, good for nighttime options for restaurants and drinking.
-St John's bridge and cathedral park, pretty bridge and park but a little far away so only do it if you have extra time.
Farther away: -Multnomah Falls, popular tourist waterfall area. Pretty. You can take a bus from gateway transit center, or drive in a car. If you go in a car, stop by the Vista house at crown point for the view (don't worry if Google says it's closed, you just need the parking area which is always open).
-Eagle Creek Trailhead if you want to go on a nice hike outside of the city, very pretty, but you need a car and to pay $5 for the parking pass. Can go for 1-2 hours or go deeper for a whole day if you want!
Other Food stuff by Eric's house: -Mudd Works Roastery (by Eric's house!) has the best coffee in portland, order an almond milk latte or a "Pooh bear" latte. -Barley pod is the close food cart pod by Eric's house -Tierra del sol has real quality Mexican food tacos, and it's cheap, by Eric's house. -Pacific Market is a Vietnamese market place by Eric's house.
Other food and donuts n' shit: -Lardo, in Hawthorne has a "pho sandwich" It's stupid, but whatever. -Pho Oregon is closer to Eric's house and has good Viet food options. Or you can go to Hanoi Kitchen if you want northern style Viet options. -Salt n straw is the famous weird ice cream place you must try. You can sample as many flavors as you want, don't be shy. Can go to 50 licks or the cheese and crack shop too for more ice cream. -go to "little Big Burger" if you are from Asia and have not tried a high quality cheeseburger in the USA yet.
-Donuts: Pip's is the local donut and Chai tea place experience and high quality. Go here first if you want donuts. Blue star has fancy expensive donuts that are super interesting. Voodoo Doughnuts is for tourists, donuts are shocking and too much sugar. Doe donuts makes vegan donuts that have very interesting flavors like "birthday cake" donut.
