Looking for a cosmic adventure? I’m heading to Death Valley National Park for the NASA Dark Sky Festival (Feb 6–8, 2026) and looking for 1–2 awesome travelers to join the crew! Death Valley is a "Gold Tier" Dark Sky Park, and the festival features scientists from NASA’s JPL and Goddard, telescope star parties, and guided hikes exploring the "Mars-on-Earth" landscape. The Plan: The Launch: Fly into Las Vegas or LA, rent a car (aiming for an SUV), and drive into the desert. The Vibe: A mix of NASA expert talks, astrophotography, and exploring iconic spots like Badwater Basin and Zabriskie Point. The Stay: Still calibrating! I’ve found a solid option for ~$200 (plus taxes) for 3 nights near the park. Plan B: If we want to stay mobile and budget-friendly, we can sleep in the SUV. I have a car air mattress ready for a "room with a view" under the Milky Way! Who I’m Looking For: Someone easy-going, curious about space, and down for a bit of desert "glamping" or car-camping.
