High Park Zoo is located down the path across from the Grenadier Cafe. Streetcar: Take the streetcar #506 Carlton St. heading west to Howard Park (end of line) and then walk into High Park and downhill to Jamie Bell playground, duck pond and High Park Zoo. Encompassing 287 hectares, the Toronto Zoo is the largest zoo in Canada averaging around 1.2 million visitors a year.The zoo has one of the most taxonomically diverse collection of animals on display of any zoo worldwide and is currently home to over 3,000 animals (including invertebrates and fish) representing over 300 species. Take the Bloor/Danforth subway line to High Park station and walk south through the park (approximately 30 minutes). Alternatively, take the 501 streetcar (Humber/Long Branch) to Colborne Lodge Drive and walk a short distance to the Lodge.
