🌼 Dear Couchsurfers — Come Celebrate Onam With Us in Fort Kochi! 🌼 This Onam, we’re bringing together Couchsurfers, backpackers, travellers and locals for a weekend of Kerala culture, food, friendship and community. ❤️ 📍 Fort Kochi 📅 22–23 August 2026 🚣 SATURDAY, 22 AUG — NEHRU TROPHY SNAKE BOAT RACE We’ll travel together from Fort Kochi to Alappuzha to experience one of Kerala’s most exciting traditions — the Nehru Trophy Snake Boat Race. 🚕 Shared taxi contribution: approx. ₹1,500/person The actual transportation cost will be shared among participants. 🌸 After returning to Fort Kochi on Saturday night, we’ll start our Onam preparations together — making the Pookkalam, helping with Sadya preparations, meeting fellow travellers and getting ready for Sunday. 🌼 SUNDAY, 23 AUG — GRAND ONAM CELEBRATION 🍛 Traditional vegetarian Kerala Onam Sadya 🌺 Pookkalam 🤸 Traditional Onam games 🎶 Music, fun & cultural exchange 🌍 Travellers and locals celebrating together Food & celebration contribution: ₹500/person. 🛏️ Couchsurfers looking for accommodation: limited stay availability may be possible. Please message the organizers Adersh, Diljith or Collin to enquire. Everything is organized on a sharing and contribution basis. Come as strangers. Celebrate as friends. Leave with a little piece of Kerala in your heart.

🌴 Hi everyone! A quick update for tomorrow & our Onam Celebration 🌼
🚤 Those joining us for the Nehru Trophy Boat Race tomorrow: Please reach Santa Maria Hostel, Fort Kochi by 7:00 AM sharp. We will be leaving together, so please don’t be late.
🌼 Those NOT joining the Boat Race but coming for our Onam Celebration: Please reach Santa Maria Hostel, Fort Kochi by 6:00 PM tomorrow evening so you can join us for the preparations and celebration.
🛏️ Accommodation: Stay will be provided subject to availability and strictly on a first-come, first-served basis, so please confirm as early as possible if you require accommodation.

For anyone interested, we also have an option to watch the Nehru Trophy Boat Race from a houseboat. 🚤🏆
💰 ₹5,500 per person, including: • Houseboat ride • Boat race viewing from the houseboat • Food • Pick-up & drop transportation from Santa Maria Hostel
This is optional. If you’re interested in joining the houseboat experience, please let us know in advance so we can coordinate accordingly. 😊

Those arriving Friday night can check in and stay at Santa Maria Hostel as planned.
🚌 On Saturday morning, we will leave the hostel around 7:30–8:00 AM in our Traveller for the Nehru Trophy Boat Race.
If you are arriving Saturday morning, please make sure you reach Santa Maria Hostel by 7:30 AM so you can join the group and travel with us.
Please plan your arrival accordingly, as we won’t be able to delay the departure.
Looking forward to an amazing boat race experience together!
